There was briefly a bug during the last beta that prevented cmdrs from seeing each others subsystems when in supercruise, I'd love to see this make a return as a feature, here's why...
-For the attacker or pirate Cmdr, It added a bit of danger and uncertainty when interdicting somebody. Sure you can see their rank and ship type, but is it an unarmed tradeaconda or a full PvP battle tank, you get to find out wether you've chosen your target wisely, only when you pull them from supercruise.
-For the "victim", well you could still be toast, but an attacker not knowing your loadout makes Q-ships and decoys a viable thing in game. Let's face it, who wouldn't want to surprise an overconfident big ship pirate (or griefer) with a sea of cascade mines followed by a face full of Packhounds from an oh so innocent looking t7.
It would also stop some of the selective non-consentual PvP that seems to occur around CGs. Often I've seen cmdrs that hover in SC close to the station and keep scanning through arriving ships to find an unarmed/poorly equipped ship and pull them just so they can get an easy victory, while ignoring cmdrs in similar ships with better loadouts.
Dumb idea or something that could make things a bit more interesting??.... Discuss
