Priority Queue Goofiness?

So is it me or are is the advice to put the Priority Queue re-entry point near your loading a little off?

I had it right by the load point but I ran into a problem. As people were tying to fill the coaster, they'd stop, check for a priority rider, and THEN go to get on the ride. I try really hard to maximize through-put so my coasters are timed for zero down time. As soon as a train leaves the station, I want another coaster pulling in. Having peeps wait at Priority lane to look means they get on slower and what should be a ~25 second process goes up to the 40 second mark.

Short fix for me (assuming I'm not missing something) is to put the re-entry further back so that at least a full train worth of people are ~past~ the re-entry point letting that "mini-hopper" fill between each train.

Am I doing that right?

Yes, I never place priority lanes right at the station platform, as it delays a bit.
