Prismatic Shields?

O.K I've been playing Elite Dangerous since it was released and I have accrued 50 billion credits and lots of fully engineered ships, and so I thought I would sign up with Aisling Duval and see if I could kit out my fleet with Prismatic Shields, so went to Cubeo (Medupe City) with a type 9 Heavy for 752 tons, stocked it full of media and delivered them, had to do this twice (as nothing changed)! I now have 5 weeks and 4 days and the 750 merits that are required, but still no access to Prismatic Shields, why does everything in Elite Dangerous have to be so convoluted or grinding! I love this Game but I'm considering leaving this game, I could do without the constant frustration... But I do Love the game, I played the original on a BBC Model B, an Amstrad and this new version on Windows 11 Pro on my PC.

Do any of you players know why I can't obtain these Prismatic Shields? It's driving me NUTS!

You may not have heard - there is a new Powerpleh coming Soon which has been specially simplifed to help players like yourself. Just wait for that.

Your power ranking gets updated during the weekly Thursday server restarts - 5 weeks and 4 days is more than enough, if you are unranked but currently have 750 merits the next Thursday restart should get you to rank 3, and the Prismatics should then become available. Your merits degrade each Thursday (so you can't collect them on week 1 and then just wait for week 4), but if you have 750 right now you should be OK.

Oct 22 is the release of the next update, including PP2. All powers are meant to provide all PP modules, although in different unlock orders.

Current system: pledge to blue haired princess and wait four weeks then turn in a bunch of papers to get to rank to where you can buy them. As there is a new system coming next week I think, you can't do this.

New system: I have no idea.

Either way, when you get the chance to get them, buy more than you think you need. You'll still come up short in the future anyway, but at least you tried.

EDIT: alright apparenlty in a few weeks.

Anyway, if you don't need the 50bn credits anymore, you can gift them to Archon Delaine (= me) and I'll avenge you for this "Prismatic Shield Fiasco".

if you made it so far without Prismatics, dont bother trying to get them now, since the current way will be obsoleted with the launch of PowerPlay 2.0, supposedly on October 22nd
So, just wait for it

Make sure you've actually got the merits (on your powerplay "rating" tab, not uncashed merits in your transaction panel) and your rank will be awarded on the tick.

Hopefully all those modules will be taken away from PP and PP will be left alone to those who enjoy and play it.
The modules will then be given to the outfitters in the revelant capital systems but you only have to be allied ( do a few missions ).

Unfortunately it's was the only way Fdev could get a higher participation in PP 1 and most of the participants were module hunters. Those that enjoy the PP side were always hamstrung by that fact.
Hopefully the PP2 will be more effective ??

I mean sure there's no urgency, but If the cmdr already has taken the time to get the merits, might as well get prismatics when they become available next Thursday and avoid having to rank up again from scratch after the update drops...

i rem i had the same issue till i scrolled right down to the bottom of station vendor shield gens to find they were there all along after which i quit powerplay
use inra to find your nearest vendor as not every station stocks them

yea, i missed the fact the cmdr was already close to unlock
