∞ probes?

Somebody is really going to twine about this.
Leave it, it makes sense from a gameplay perspective.

I might actually bother to go exploring now for my final 50% to Elite exploration.

No more exploration until 3.3 for me!

I know, I'm waiting for said whinger.

think they should use small amount resources from your special backpack so you can drop down to a planet and gather them where ever you are. gives us another reason to land.

I am so happy about this. It was my primary worry about the new exploration mechanics - that after a while you wouldn't want to bother using the drones as that would just mean lots of synthesis material grind.

I think (and hope) they'll update the interface for it.
The number of "remaining" probes doesn't make sense any more now as they are unlimited.

With the new "efficiency coefficient", I would like to know how many probes I've already fired (which wasn't shown so far, IIRC). Something simple like "3/6" would be enough.

Oh, and the game mechanic itself: I love it! :)
And unlimited probes are not realistic, but a sensible compromise for the mechanic's usability. I am fine with it.

Multi-crew telepresence makes sense from a gameplay perspective but that didn't stop people flapping their gums about it for days on end.

For the avoidance of doubt I dont give a toss about infinite probes or the golf mini-game.

And FD ignored it. They seem to have shifted from 'arguably tedious but 'realistic' to gameplay-focussed'. The new explo system is a great example. If you want to fully map a system it is now both much faster, and much more engaging. I've mapped tons of systems but eventually couldn't do it anymore. A system with 50 bodies would consist of about 30 seconds of steering in total, and 30 minutes of waiting. Now it'll be five minutes of gameplay.

We should shoot rocks to pick up probes

OMG KOREAN MMO GRIND SANDRO SAID HE WOULD RESPECT MY TIME LOL 100 DEVS 2.8% STAR CITIZEN! ;)
