Problems with your Frontier Account Email...?

Commanders, I just received this email for both my ED accounts and I was only playing last week...

"We're writing to you about an upcoming change to your account with Frontier Developments.

We regularly review and improve our account systems and are writing to notify you that due to a problem with your account, we will soon un-link the Frontier account associated with this email address from any associated Steam accounts.

For some Elite Dangerous players, this may lead to you being unable to access Elite Dangerous after this time. If this does affect you, you will be able to regain access by following these steps to link your Frontier and Steam accounts together at https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=485

Should you need any further support, our support team are available to contact at https://support.frontier.co.uk."

Has anyone else seen this email?

I wouldn't be supposed if it had something to do with account sharing and trying to prevent it. I think everyone got the email.
 
Did you open the game and see if there was a window asking to link it to steam? My pc died about a week ago and I'm waiting for a new BIOS chip to arrive, to replace the old one, so I can POST and launch windows again. So, I can't check it myself.
 
I got this too and quickly tweeted at fdev but deleted until I figure out more about it. I have 3 accounts and got the email for 2 of them, including one I didn't purchase on steam. Nothing to see here if nothing happens, but if by some reason I can't log in later on in the future I'll be pretty ticked off. I've spent way too much money on microtransactions to be locked out of my account because of "problem with your account"

And I logged into all three accounts today after a considerable time off. If there's a "link to steam" prompt - it isn't active yet so I guess we'll see.

Yes, I have a number of store accounts for Cmdrs and the other FD games each with a different email address and got only emails for two of them.
One email was to the store account I only used for Jurassic World, which is weird as it only mentions Elite Dangerous in it.
And I don't use Steam for any of the Elite Dangerous accounts.

The email says they haven't done the un-linking yet, that will be..... soon.
 
Haven't got any email for my 2 accounts...

Maybe make sure your name and address is correct just in case you need to send them your id or something.
 
yeah I got this email did as it said when I logged on its asking me to start a new commander it looks like there deleted my saved profile, I've opened a ticket to whats wrong

If you're unable to get into game then let us know and we'll investigate and assist you further where we can.

Cool, thanks for going through that for us. I knew I overreacted when I tweeted @ them about this but I was still half asleep when I read it and it sounded worse than it was, which is why I deleted it and decided to wait. One of the first times the forums actually resolved my issue 😅
