Professional reaction from FD

So after I wrote this thread, I am pretty pleased by FDs reaction.

1. They closed this thread due to some players beeing too emotional about one line in my post but furthermore,
2. FD indeed patched Elite and made some tweaks to collison damage as far as I have noticed.

I do not expect this to solve the problem for 100% but I have to admit this work is highly professional.
This is a good example of good developement, atleast for me. Praise the one who deserves to be praised, and FD deserves to be praised.

a lot of negative feedback is being closed out by the mod team, not sure if this censorship is doing any good to anyone. looks like more and more people just spam forums with new topics.

You mean, a lot of players insulting eachother are leading FD to lock threads.

They havent patched it yet for collision they will when they have a fix

We're working on a few priority issues and in particular the excessive collision damage issue. I don't have an eta for a fix, but once we have it we'll release an update.

Michael is doing a good job of remaining professional in the face of the massive fallout from a botched 1.1 update release.

Whoever authorized that 1.1 release is the unprofessional entity, in my opinion.

well sometimes, some people do get a bit over the top but even threads with constructive criticism are being closed out:

I'm honestly surprised at how far they go to avoid censorship. The people who pay to keep this forum up did it specifically to help sell their game. It is a marketing tool. It fundamentally could not be further from unbiased. Yet most threads are allowed through, even the bad ones.

There really is not. The moderators are part of FD, they get their instructions from FD higherups.

It is community moderated. As a marketing tool, it is a sign of open and honest business practices to allow community members moderate their own forums.

No, they really don't. There are forum rules that everyone can see and the moderators actually mostly wrote them. The mods merely assure that they are followed.

If you made your point in that thread, the point is made. Whether it is subsequently locked is of no consequence.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of locking threads, I don't think stifling banter is the right way to operate but these are not my forums and I don't know what instructions the moderators have been given.

I wasn't aware they already fixed the collision issue. Is this true? I haven't had a patch, so seems to be not legit.

They were mostly written by the mods and are not "instructions from FD" except in that they validated them by making them public after discussion.
