Project: Influence 7.5% up

Hi everyone,

I found this forum on my other topic:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/473413-Gaining-influence
where I was asking about gaining influence. I had no idea about BGS and how BGS works (even I spent 140 hours on PC and over 100 on PS4), haha.

Well, as said in link above, I started to support very small faction on the last place with 7.5%, to see what is going on if help this faction every day (as lone wolf), so far
[day 1] last place 7.5%
[day 2] 3rd place 11.5%
[day 3] 3rd place 14.3% (election pending)
[day 4] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status draw)
^^ I spent last night few hours on missions and at peak 1pm I found still the same :( 14.3% What should I do now? What kind of missions? For how long?

Hi Cmdr.

While you're in an Election the influence for both parties will remain fixed for 7 days. Completing some election-themed missions each day should move you towards victory in the election. Check the system status in your right-hand panel, selecting your faction to show the detail of the win/lose slider. You only need to 'win' 4 days out of 7 to get the job done, then you can take some days off to bask in your glorious victory. The panel will also show you if you're going to gain control of a station at the end of it.

Once you've successfully won the election (of course :) ), you can use the full range of missions, bounties, etc. to keep pushing higher to reach the Controlling faction and start a war/election with them for control of the system.

... then it's time to go for 75% influence and an Expansion into another populated system... ultimately ending in you controlling all systems as part of your all-powerful empire. All hail the new Emperor! :)

Many thanks for such quick answer :) Are the results (of my election actions) published once a day after a peak?

Looks to me like there are 4 native factions, 1 inserted PMF(?) and 3 that expanded into the system. We had 10 factions in one of our factions home system due to an old mechanic from a previous iteration of the BGS which sucked a faction in from the system you expanded into. We've sent most of them home now though retreats. If a faction is retreated from their only system that isnt their native one, they reappear at their original home.

Thanks for the reply.

I got another questions - how many factions is on the system? I thought is 5 but I found this (8 factions):
https://eddb.io/system/factions/19070

Could system have more factions than now, or it was just generated randomly at the big bang?

The normal maximum is 7, although there are a few with 8. Engineers and Pilots Federation dont count.
All systems were "Born" with 6 or fewer (may be 5 or fewer) so there was room for someone to expand in.

Right, some update:
[day 5, 23.01] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status close victory)

^^ so I did few missions Today, should I keep going, or wait till next peak tomorrow?

I am allied now, are there any bonuses in compare to friendly status? This faction is part of superpower, does it mean my better rank here to other superpower (the same) faction?

Being Allied to a faction tends to mean they give you more, and better-paying, missions. Plus, of course, no more pesky reputation-locked missions. So in the sense of "more missions being available", it's better to do your ranking up in an Allied station rather than a Friendly one.

This system is inside Pranav Antal (29Ly from their HQ), is it possible I will join Zachary, do some job so the system could be under Zachary control (145 Ly from HQ)?

That's not technically *impossible* but the relative ranges mean that it's a much easier and more profitable system for Antal than Zachary ... so Antal would find it very easy to keep, and Zachary would find it very hard to capture.

In practice, it would be so difficult for Zachary to capture - and so unprofitable if they somehow did! - that you'd end up fighting against Zachary's supporters as well if you tried to do it, because you'd be wasting limited resources on something not of value to the wider power.

As a new week, I have checked Preparation list so far. It could be difficult to be in TOP10 now in few, but in other few looks like a queue is empty.

Is it possible, my faction could change orientation (federation now)? Or independent faction could become eg. Federation oriented?

What if I join Parnav Antal and my favourite faction is Federation?

And, one more question - is this victory or close to victory?

Right, thank you for all advice.

What I will do, I will support my faction which is aligned to Federation, but will join Parnav Antal as local one, as Preparation queue is much shorter than at Zacahry or other Felicia Winter. Will keep going to see what happens.

So what now? 4th day in row as total victory, 5th as victory, 6th day when election started, BUT... In a meantime, a faction from the 4th place went into 2nd place and got 14.5%. So when election is finished, will I have another row at 14.5% - so another faction could overtook me again?

[day 1, 19.01.19] last place 7.5%
[day 2, 20.01.19] 3rd place 11.5%
[day 3, 21.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election pending)
[day 4, 22.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status draw)
[day 5, 23.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status close victory)
[day 6, 24.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status total victory)
[day 7, 25.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status total victory)
[day 8, 26.01.19] 3rd place 14.3% (election, conflict status total victory)
[day 9, 27.01.19] 4th place 14.3% (election, conflict status total victory)

When the election ends tomorrow you will move up +4, and the opposition down -4. You should jump past that pesky 14.5% faction.
