Firstly, thanks for developing such a useful tool. It's what ED should have built-in!

Having now used it a couple of times, I've found a problem with forbidden systems. There needs to be some way to mark a system as "permit required", then have the user indicate what permits they have so that systems can be avoided if necessary.

This is a good idea, and I plan to have to add it at some point.

One would also need to specify which permits he/she has, and that could be implemented properly only with session management on the map, because routing is done on the server-side. However that would require a login page, which is not done yet.

I've pushed a small update to the starchart, now the basic system information is shown under the search box, along with a warning if a permit is required.

Unfortunately the route planner does not take this info into account yet.

I wanted to add a list of stations to the info box too, this is postponed until I can figure out how to export my icons from Inkscape.

Many thanks to the commanders filling in system and station details. There were some 100+ changes, they are pushed now to the bitbucket project page. The contents of the commander name edit box is now recorded in the json file.

My short term plan is to improve the server-side code so that instead of just showing the actual state of the system the change history could be checked, to detect mistakes or vandalism. Then I plan to move the chart generator code to so it runs in the browser. This will considerably reduce the load on the server, make it possible to display an actual progress bar and potentially reduce map load times.

Interesting, I've tested the route planner in gamma 2.04, and I like it. I have not used it much yet.

It has a range limit of around 60-70 ly it seems, so it can only plan for 3-4 jumps in a well fitted ASP. So not useful.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I think I've made a mistake somewhere with the last upload, but there is definitely a bug in bitbucket as well. I am quite sure it should not list the download if it's not available.

I am in the middle of rewriting things, the new binary will be made available once I'm done with this.

I plan to make the downloadable binary to that it will still use the same data as the website by default, so the data will be always kept in sync, only the local binary version will load much faster.

The map has been refactored. Most of the changes affect only the backend, but there are some changes visible to users, too:

- new url is http://starchart.club (unfortunately this means everything needs to be set up again)
- new default economy colors based on this thread (with thanks to Smacker for the hint)
- station list on map
- slightly modified edit page

Please let me know if you experience problems. The old site remains online at http://tajti.co:6969/elite/map/ (note the port number) for the time being, feel free to use it in case there are any problems with the updated version that has not been noticed.

Thanks for this starchart, however, I have noticed that since the new version I cannot search for a star system so I am having to use the old version. I type in a star system name and whereas before a drop down list would appear with the systems to choose from, now nothing happens.

Hi Taimaru, thanks for reporting this.

Please help me find this bug: open the new version in chrome with dev tools (F12) open, and try the search again then I could find the bug. It should print an exception in the console, giving me a hint what the error is. In addition to that, your IP address and exact time in UTC you were testing could be helpful, too.

The old version will be down when I've finished my EDSC import code to add the ~1,500 crowd sourced systems there.
