Proper Way to Pronounce "Xihe"?

Assuming that it is Chinese Mandarin it is pronounced pretty much as.... She Her (thats 90% right)

If you really want to get to (95%):
- For the Sh.... put your tongue to the front of your mouth (making a sound that is somewhere between S and Sh).
- For the H...make a slightly throaty sound (almost as though you thought about forming a G but changed your mind to an H at the last minute).

Not 'ksih-hee' then, no?

But anyway, I'd have gone for 'Jee-huh' personally.

With the 'j' sound from a French word such as in 'de jour'.

It's a 3 syllable.

1st one is pretty much she.
2nd is remotely like her but the h has some throat scratching and the r is silent.
3rd one is like Ch in Chernobyl and then ends in a German umlaut u. Like in uber.

That will get it as close as I can get it with finding something suitable.

Wow! Many interpretations here. Glad to see I am not the only one wondering.

西河 Xìhé meaning "River"

I suspect Ziljan has the win here. Roybe, I think that website may not be assuming the above, as it has the definition of "Goddess of the Sun".

Perhaps someone from FDev would like to weigh in? With so much attention to the system recently in GalNet, I would expect there is a preferred pronunciation among the writing staff.

Having a pronunciation guide for the systems regularly mentioned in the news would be a GREAT help for us at Radio Sidewinder, and elsewhere I'm sure.
