PS4 HOTAS Compatibility Index

Just stating a thread here to list all the HOTAS setups that people have that are compatible with Elite Dangerous. I have the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 which is officially supported (I *think* from day one, but don't quote me, if anyone does have a quote please chime in (Frontier guys?)). As people confirm after launch what they have working I will add them to this list.

Confirmed Working

1. Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS 4

Confirmed NOT Working

1. There is no support for the TFRP (Thrustmaster T.flight Rudder Pedals)
2. Saitek X56
3. Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X
4. Thrustmaster 16000m FCS

If you are confused about the Thrustmaster T.Flight sticks, remember;

If it's red, it's dead. If it's blue, you can do.

Closing this now; it's clear the HOTAS 4 is the only supported stick and I don't think there will be any further useful information added now.

I have the Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X V.4 which I will test on launch day. It's old, but it's nice, and it takes up less room than a full blow HOTAS. If anyone knows this stick not to work, feel free to comment, and provide a tissue for my tears.

BTW, does anyone know of a good flying game demo that we can test our sticks on? I'm not sure if this stick is PS4 compatible, let alone ED compatible.

-- edit --

This stick is NOT recognized by PS4. I have yet to try with ED for obvious reasons.

Warthunder is free to play although I wouldn't quite class it as 'good' ;)

It's handy as a test. Not everything worked for me in Oolite on my Macbook Air so I tested it in War Thunder and it all worked so at least I know I don't have a faulty stick. It turned out to be Oolite because I downloaded an app which measured all the signals and they were all fine.

I'm sure plenty of people like it tbh :) Deffo a worthy test game and I think possibly the only test you can try as warthunder is the only game compatible with the t flight 4 :/

Don't know if it is still available for free or not. But "War Thunder" was and so far todate, the only one offically sanctioned by Sony to work with a hotas t-flight 4. ED, will be only the second game to be officalized to work as designed with support in regards to a hotas. One may be able to get the x or another to work, but there would be no support. On a side note, the PS5 is to be 400 times better than the ps4 AND, it will be able to play ALL previous ps1, 2, 3 and 4 games. COST is expected to be $500.00 U.S. No news on ehich hotas will work.

Yeah sorry my comment may have sounded unnecessarily disparaging! I simply meat it's free so anyone can download it and use it to 'test' a HOTAS or stick as they seem to have a ton of support for sticks. Looks a fine game, just not my cup of tea. I will also need to watch my planetary landings given how many times I made an 'unexpected forced landing' in my plane...

No probs m8 I understood your meaning :) i hated the game tbh and uninstalled strait after I'd had a session testing the stick lol ;)

I'm actually glad I didn't like it tho as the prices for DLC/microtransactions were disgusting!

Yeah I think this is the main criticism of the game. Not sure whether that approach has worked for them.

I really hope it didn't! Would be a nightmare if more games went that way :/

If testing a HOTAS on the ps4 on the main home screen plug it in and leave it for thirty seconds as it seems to pause I assume to load drivers before it becomes active.
The hat or main stick can then be used to navigate the ps menu, if not I'd still try it within warthunder as im sure I've heard of peeps using different sticks on it :)

+vRep (as I can't rep you more right now)

I think I'll try to play with the Dualshock® first. Meanwhile saving money for a Trustmaster® T. Flight HOTAS.
