The 27th of June, 2017 (and it's parallel in 3303) is a fixed point in time, a moment in the space-time continuum at which events are set in stone and can never, ever be changed, no matter what, with dire consequences if such a thing were to happen. Mess with the 27th, and reality itself may collapse!
Or the Ood may start singing, which usually leads to bad things...

I think that is exactly what we'll be doing when we fire up Elite for the first time (at least those of us who haven't played ED before) - staring without blinking. I better stock up on eyedrops!
