PSA: 13th Legion Rules of Engagement

Posting this as there is a lot of misinformation about our group. We are not griefers or murder hobos. We have a very strict Rules of Engagement. Any 13th Legion pilot who violates our RoE is subject to discipline (and banishment for repeat offenses), and we invite any pilot who feels a 13th Legion pilot has violated their oath to bring us proof of such.

13th Legion RoE:

1) Any Federation-aligned pilot (Winters or Hudson) is KOS (Kill on Sight). This includes ANY type of ship, and ANY skill level, although we do encourage mercy on noob pilots or very weak ships.

2) Any known terrorist is KOS. This include members of SDC, RSM, etc. Members of said groups can be killed regardless of aligned power.

3) NO FACTION or non-Federation ships CANNOT be attacked, UNLESS they have committed a crime against the Empire. This includes WANTED ships in Imperial space. WANTED ships in non-Imperial space may be attacked, UNLESS their WANTED status was obtained in a manner that helps the Empire. Assaulting an Imperial officer (13th Legion member) or Imperial-aligned ship counts as a crime against the Empire.

4) Empire-aligned ships must be assisted at all costs, and any Imperial-aligned ship may request backup from any 13th Legion members available. Attacking an Imperial-aligned ship is a critical offense in the 13th Legion, UNLESS the Imperial-aligned ship has committed a crime against the Empire.

5) The only exception to our RoE is during a system blockade. If the 13th Legion is blockading a system (such as a CG that helps the Federation), ANY ship may be attacked, although it is protocol to inform said ships of the blockade and allow them a chance to high-wake out of system.

To summarize, if you are not a Fed, a terrorist, or a criminal WANTED by the Empire, you have nothing to fear from the 13th Legion. Further, if you are an Imperial pilot in good standing, you have the option to call on the 13th Legion at any time for assistance.

Was it you guys at the last "anarchy vs feds" CG that posted messages all the time in local, along the lines of "this system is in lockdown, all players with interdictors will be questioned etc etc"?

I obviously don't agree with everything you've done. But despite that incident, I can't help but respect the 13th's apparent commitment to roleplaying.

Or maybe I'm just biased because my tendency to be working for Empire-aligned minor factions while pledged to an Imperial power and flying an Imperial ship makes you the one group with a tendency towards non-consensual PvP which probably wouldn't attack me :D

Why isn't this on the Dangerous Groups board?

I have to second this. This should either be in the Dangerous Groups discussion (in which case it belongs in the existing 13th Legion thread) or it should be in the Lore and Roleplay subforum. If the OP wants to pound his chest Dangerous Discussion is probably not the best place to do it.

Why isn't this visible in game at any station ruled by 13th Legion?

Player Group access to News Feeds at stations they rule NOW!

We already have access to our local news feeds. We just don't have unmoderated access. We don't need rogue groups posting pornography in their local news just to force Frontier to increase the game rating to PEGI 18 / Adults Only 18+

Because it relates to anybody who isn't in the 13th but travels in Open and may come in contact with them? Let's not let our disdain and fear of nonconsensual PvP rule our emotions, gentlemen:)

Because no one will see it. This pertains to anyone who flies in OPEN. So perhaps just but your bias aside and don't click on it if you don't like it. Cheers.

Plus, as an Imperial you have the ability to call on us when needed.

Hey, I remember running your blockade on a CG a few weeks ago - I'm unaligned, and it seemed to pay well. Definitely appreciated the warning on entering the system for the first time, you did a good job of representing the empire. Maybe next time we'll be on the same side :)

I've never feared "nonconsensual PvP". If you are playing in Open you've given your explicit consent to engage in PvP. That's just part of the game. I just don't see why the 13th needs to stick this in Dangerous Discussion. It really doesn't matter if people won't see it or not in any of the other sub forums. The "rules" set forth in the OP are pretty obvious to begin with.

As a member of the Federally-aligned Earth Expeditionary Fleet we'd take pretty much the same stance toward Imperial groups (though, following Hudson's words, we may not fire the first shot). The major caveat is that, outside of 'The Bubble' we treat all members of humanity as "Friendlies" unless they demonstrate hostile intentions themselves. In other words: as explorers we treat other explorers as allies regardless of their political allegiance.

Not sure why this triggers you so much. We've had a lot of ppl that are NO FACTION say please don't attack us lately, so we felt the need to make it clear for everyone. Seems you are just complaining to complain.

Lol reading this, then think of last night when a wing of 13th were fighting a wing of imperials for no reason... but y'all don't attack imperials, yea sure..

OP looks a bit like Assad!

Not Assad b'stard - pre-empting you humorous little monkeys - just Assad!

& it would appear...similar morals too!

Maybe I should put my own PSA's in the dangerous discussion forum since I fly in open and therefore it affects everyone:

"Caution, if you see Cmdr AlexBrentnall in space and fly towards him he may spook and high wake whilst apologising."

/sarcasm.. Not about the high wake thing, I'd totally do that. :)

Yeah I get the need to PSA this but for real if we had PSA from every group/player on dangerous discussion we may as well shut the forums down now as it'd drown out everything else. I also get that these PSA things arn't all the time but I'm with Jaiotu in that this needs to be stopped before it starts otherwise it'll get out of hand like that thing on reddit a month or so ago :)

On topic the rules seem fairly reasonable. Although I'm interested to know how i'd be treated as a Imperial aligned player with bounties in both Empire and Federation systems yet flying a Federal Corvette and part of player groups on both sides of the faction war.
I am a true neutral(ish). :D:D

1. That's fine but keep in mind some of us actually don't care about those powers, some of us are just using them to farm powerplay Weapons. I myself just ditched Aisling for Li Yong Rui to get those glorious Packhounds for my Corvette (Donations at 17 Draconis ftw, btw I am half a rank away from gaining Cutter rank). When I'm done with Rui I'll probably go for Imperial Hammers or Advanced Plasma Accelerator unless I get the info I wanted from someone who has Pulse Disruptors. In the end the only allegiance I have is to myself (and for all Powerplay I myself hunt down ships in Archon Delaines systems to get the Powerplay Merits after afking for 3 1/2 weeks in whatever Power I'm with at the time).

2. SDC is hardly terrorists and you sound like you're really salty. SDC if anything, thanks to Rinzlers videos (SENPAI NOTICE ME PLS) have actually shown Frontier a lot of broken mechanics such as the utterly broken heat meta, and the ludicrous insane power of Healing Beams, not to mention he at least fights fair and rekts combat loggers and gimbal / turret scrubs. I don't know the other group but I'm sure whatever RSM is, is that they probably wrecked your members.

3. I fly a Corvette, but I highly doubt you chase down every fed NPC ship that enters empire space unless you just have that much free time on your hands. I don't mess with the Empire, so I expect not to be messed with, if your "glorious" Empire would have made the super combat ship instead of a bloated whale Cutter that's only purpose is trading and shield tanking (Corvette needs size 8 internal) then I would have worked harder in Empire space (lol Quince) to get that first instead of the Corvette. But I ain't no Fed, and I ain't no Imperial.

Also I'm glad not all your members are like you, I've run into a few 13th Legion people when in Empire space and just chilling in my Corvette at Engineers and whatnot who are just willing to chat and talk (though I doubt they'll mention it, you sound more like a dictator of a ruler than a promoter of the true ideals of the Empire... you sure you aren't related to that loser Denton?). I've run into AA people who weren't jerks, 13th Legion who weren't jerks, and SDC who weren't jokes. Everyone has good and bad members, looks like I know where you stand though.

That said I'm not salty, just this post caught my attention since I'm an Open exclusive player except when cashing in weeks of Exploration data or teaching a friend the game (actually just got another friend into Elite, woo!). I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for you. Though your name does sound familiar, are you a combat logger or something?

So how are you guys going to handle the Salome event?

Potentially, people from all ranks and factions will show up to protect her, including fed PP players, still gonna KoS them?

As loyal officers of the Empire, would they not be compelled to try to claim the Imperial Bounty on Salome and her co-conspirators?

I'm not "complaining to complain". Why so defensive that people are engaging with the thread you created?

You've admitted that you posted it here because you thought nobody would see it if you posted it in a more appropriate subforum. My only "complaints" were to agree with someone for pointing out that "Dangerous Discussions" is the wrong place for these kind of posts and then to point out that informing people that they might be engaged in PvP while playing in "Open" is rather unnecessary.

You chose to post here in Dangerous Discussions, instead of posting your notice in Dangerous Groups or Role Play, because you wanted to maximize exposure. Well ... job well done.
