PSA: AX Weapons nerfed incorrectly! Do not attempt to kill Thargoids

Didn't see this here so here we go

The new AX weapons given to us to defeat the thargoids have proved effective but today they have received a nerf, this nerf was designed to prevent them being used vs Human ships to great effect but Frontier being Frontier they have nerfed the wrong value.

Taken from the patch notes:

Reduced the ArmourPiercing value of Anti-Xeno Dumbfire Missiles from .05 to .001
Instead of nerfing the Armour Piercing value Frontier have nerfed the Breach Damage instead, Breach damage is required to damage thargoid hearts, 8 AX Missiles now only deal 2% damage to a exposed heart.

If this is true then, my god. I cant imagine any kind of testing beyond 'none whatsoever' that would fail to catch this, if true. FWIW: just one-shot an Adder with them, so they definitely deal hull damage atm.
 
Seriously? Wouldn't the most simple and basic of QA testing have shown this before going live? :S
 
Yeah, the idea that this is being summarized to "they're all powerful despite being another totally predictable NPC" is laughable at best since at this point, we dont have anything else capable of damaging the thargoid vessel until the CG completes to compare these rockets to. Now they're just back to being artificially difficult and unkillable by any current means.
 
This may be intentional with the new AX Multicannon being the thing with breach damage. Considering the materials we are collecting, it makes sense an armor piercing weapon is being developed.

What is the breach value supposed to be on AX missiles?

looking at ED Shipyard we have some weapons with nice breach values.

Cannons do 15-35 (small to large) in breach damage
Frag Cannons do 15-40 breach
Dumbfires do 20 breach
Torpedoes do 60 breach
Railguns 22 to 40
P.Accelerator does 46-70
Multi-Cannons and laser do breach but at very low values (1-5)
Seekers and mines have no breach value

This means that small ships could perhaps use cannons and rockets but if AX missiles have a higher breach value than S3 plasma accelerator (Breach 70) then they are useless.
 
Need dev response on this asap please. I was going to go hunting thargoids tonight (for the first time). Obviously won't now without clarification.
