PSA: Do not go to Pallaeni in Open

I don't mind pirates, I understand they are part of the game. I just made this PSA because people were flooding the Discord chat with "I got ganked in Pallaeni while in open", as if expecting the fleetcomm admins to somehow ban the pirates or be these players personal army.

DIDNT DW2 EMPLOY PVP PROTECTION???

This is part of the game. In fact good part of the game. I like killing other players when I have the chance. Why would you report that? We are not all on the same boat. I have chosen to be a pirate. If someone wants to go mining - it's his choice.
But I have to admit that FDev need to work more in this direction. I am ex-EVE player. There are options to find out when a pirate enters your system so you can quickly escape to a safe spot.

EVE has how many systems, again??? oh, yeah... less than 1% of ED...

Business as usual I see then.

Oh come on, they're not going to restore ships under any circumstances. Or are you suggesting that players have a right to infiltrate private servers, break the rules, and force the consequences of their actions to stick?

Its a game, sure, but if we're bowling, and I walk over and use your lane to sink gutter balls on your turn, you're under no obligation to recognize that as being your turn and add the score. And if I come over and write it on your sheet, You are justified in erasing it.

destruction under non PvP circumstances would still stand, so why the "god mode" complaint?

Please see my post in regards to fish building their own barrel. It’s not C and P, it’s the extraordinary naivety of the average Commander that lead to yesterday.

I don't think that is a matter of naivety. Going full shielded and armed everywhere shouldn't be a must (Pallaeni is not the case since it's low sec).
Some commanders just want to interact with others without having to go to Mobius. There is no place in the game for doing that.
High Sec should be that place in my opinion.

Greetings.

Most of the galaxy is perfectly conducive to this. The overwhelming majority of my CMDR's interactions with other CMDRs, in Open, are non-violent.

High Sec should be that place in my opinion.

The only way to have high-security imply near absolute safety is via arbitrary limitations on what actions can be taken that are far in excess of any precedent...or via the imposition of consequences severe enough to be a credible deterrent. I'm all for the latter, but most people that have a problem with the current status quo would have a much harder time if such consequences were implemented.

In my experience forums like this one and Inara plus public Discords are way better choices for meeting people than anything in game. In fact, there isn’t a single person in my entire squadron that I met in game first and I consider many of them to be my closet friends period!

True. I couldn't agree more.
However, many commanders won't go to open because bad experiences tend to be more remembered :(
Almost all the games I have played have safe areas to be and risky ones full of incentives to go (better ores, selling prices, etc.)

I won't be sending friend requests to anyone, but I do like to know that "that ship" is being flown by a real person instead of an NPC, and maybe exchange an "o7". The hollow squares make my game less hollow ;)
Currently, instead of that, you have to be watching your back, even in SOL, while looking at those target's modules trying to find an interdictor.

Greetings.
