pseudo military shows that are 'elite-ish' .. firefily, etc.

One thing most of these other television series have in common is a young female alien: sometimes bald, sometimes blue, sometimes both, but always in Lycra.

Oh, Miss Piggy doesn't count

Cowboy bebop is one of my favorite shows and what I hope to become on the Elite universe. I do wish they had some kind of radio show like the one on the Anime, that tells you the biggest bounties of the system.

All really good nominations. I liked this show called Star Hunter a lot had a lot of Elite like aspects that were really cool. Michael Pare` was the main character and he was a Bounty Hunter looking for his son who was kidnapped by some sort of pirates/raiders type of people and there was a lot of political shenenigans going on in the background. There was a second series to it that was the reverse his son looking for him after some crazy event flipped the timeline around but I never managed to catch it.

May not be Elite but it had a certain vibe to it that felt like an Elite like universe.

unfortunately, it doesn't rule itself out for being 100% for the earth defense directorate: "our way or no way".

It's really quite facetious, at least as much as startrek's federation was.

It doesn't suck (well, the first season didn't) , but be prepared for the contrast of 'old freedoms' vs 'new earth directorate style'

my apologies, I'm not finding the season 1 open with the William Conrad voice over, that didn't suck.

Love the brilliant open.. it doesn't age, so to speak.

Gil Gerard wanted it to be a lot darker, after all he was a man out of time, everyone he knew and loved was dead and even the world he knew was dead from the war.
He'd pretty much given up by the second season.

I watched Serenity several times but I missed the Firefly seasons when they were on TV. Finally got to see those and it really blew me away. What a great show! Killer reviews too. Then I found out FOX pulled it but I couldn't find a reason why? *shakes fist*

I am surprised no one mentioned a Science-fiction classic.

Its about a diverse crew of misfits who struggle to get by, taking on dangerous missions in their private cargo-carrying spaceship.

They often break the law and have trouble with the authorities.

When they get angry they sometimes curse in Chinese.

The show was cancelled, but the fans outcry for more resulted in a comeback in the form of a hit movie!

That show was, of course:

FUTURAMA!

No I think Kol.deering eases his pain. Or make forget completely.

Some go for extreme darkness. I wonder. BSG I won't look again because it to dark. Stargate universe same crap to dark.

I see darkness in all scifi shows it got its place in some eps. It give depth. So a decent doses makes it better but pure is bad. So a full show where every conflict is resolved in negative darkness. even the char building is so extensive done that it looses it sci-fy ness.

It no scifi
It no drama in space.
No it drama soap with a far scifi background.

I didn't find much TV shows.

My favo 3

Firefly
SG1
Atlantis

others:

Voyager
Farscape
TNG
Andromeda
Crusader

Nostalgia:
Buck rogers
BSG originals
STOS
Blake7 // this is my latest full Season box

While Fast forwarding the dark crap it doable:
BSG remake
SGU

Also I don't think about a space game in sandbox. when thinking at all of these shows. It is not Elite. as it character driven it more FPS with space ships in space.

I think more in core it more like Mass effect 3. ship combat more bridge commander.

TV shows are very lineair so a campaign where you part of a team not leading but following.

So Stargate SG1 The alliance made sense. unfortunate canceled by Perception / Jowood.
SG world MMO no make no sense.
