Public Service Announcment

Of all the crazy people here I seem to be the most sane. That or we are both the most insane.

Something definetly ain't right. :p

maybe police can say that after scanning someone.. something like:

- scan detected
- now we will ram you to check if u have enough for a rebuy

I would just really like to see it be so god damn obvious and still once in a blue moon see a ''I lost my ship..'' thread. [hehe]
Maybe big flashing warning sign at top of screen where other warnings arrive? if you are docked with no insurance covering? or when in a station instance to make you aware of it?

I'm thinking more like when the ship scan detected thing pops up but it stays on the screen until you got the cash. There is also obnoxious and loud sounds and music acompanying it.

Learning by dying is very much part of the learning experience.
It won't help players hate you less for killing them though, if you do that kinda thing.
It would give you a better defence when ppl get mad about it though, again if you do that kinda thing.
I wouldn't know though, being a Banana I live in a universe full of Rainbows and Unicorns.

As I've stated haven't even really played Elite in the past two days it's more of the recent ''I lost my ship'' thread that triggered me. I've made the decision to stop caring one bit. If they don't listen up take the chance and fail that's on them. They bet everything and lost.

This is because the credit grinders, will rush things until it is in their face. BOOM! My game at two days was still in the sidey and hoping for my first buy. Yet many, can put themselves into a Python in two days. Very expensive, BOOM!

The right panel should have to be accepted before launch. Accepted that you 'Don't have the funds to replace ship!' Do you still wish to launch? I brought a T-6, (no flaming I sold it within the week) Anyway, loaded it with Imps. playing dare with myself in Open. Launch; towards 5 jumps and just happen to look at the right panel. Cargo, wiped out my credits. I did not enjoy that trip at all. Nothing bad happened, but I won't be doing it again. Not enough time to throw away.

Very expensive maybe - but not a huge loss of time "invested" if they have gained their Python in two days of play. If they have managed to gain so many Credits without learning some of the most fundamental aspects of the game then the second time round should cement the lessons....

Heh, 2 days. We'll see about that. Dangerzone made a thread yesterday seeing if he could get a Python in one evening using Robigo on his clean PC save.

You just know though, that people will complain about being reminded off it, and wanting a way to turn it off, and then later come making a "I lost everything" post, so yeah.

I'm sure one of the announcements is "Do you have enough credits to cover insurance? If not the losses will be much greater" or something to that affect.
