Pulse Wave Analyzer Hotfix soon, please?

I'm just staying away from core mining until it's fixed as I find the bugged version of the PWA too annoying to use. It would be nice if we heard something from FDev about it, even if they are just looking into it at this point.

Well yeah you can still make good money but its a chore and not fun to constantly do reverski and fly in circles just to work around this bug.
I'm with you OP, I too think it's a pain in the backside. Right now I'd rather laser mine painite if I go mining. It's not as fun as the old core mining but it's more fun than the bugged version of it. Fun is subjective though so it's possible Frillop and others may get a thrill from the bugged version.

Ok, got it. So you want it more convenient/faster whatever. Just be in for appropriate price adjustments once the mainstream starts farming VO cores. Better think twice than sorry...
(some minor corrections are certainly necessary, but it is not as dramatically broken as some people currently claim)

Don't quite get what you're talking about... The module is currently bugged and not functioning as it should. Just asking for it to be fixed. And yes, it is as broken as people say, I am playing with a wide FOV on a clipper/cutter and not a single roid in front of me will glow, literally.

Have you actually looked at the market for VO's recently?

How is it any different to how it was before the PWA was broken?

I don't want to be impolite, but I did some VO mining over the last couple of days in a Cobra MK4 and without any special widening of the FOV. I was able to mine 58 tons in 40 minutes (a bit lucky perhaps, but other sessions were not that far of). I can't say how you mine in particular, so I don't know for instance why you are using a big and sluggish ship for core mining, when only little outcome is to be expected. And no glowing rocks at all? Then something must be really broken on your side as this is far off from what I experience.

Apart from that, I'm again in uncharted regions and was extremely lucky to find now a double VO spot with almost perfect overlap (looks like a single hotspot, only 0.01 Ls apart). At the moment I'm ordering my FC and then I'll finish for today. Tomorrow I will have the rare opportunity to find out if this will help to increase the possible hit rate...

It's the spot(s) in the center of my HUD:

You do realize we're not talking about the surface scanner don't you? It is about the roids inside the hotspots obviously, lol.
Clipper is slow and sluggish huh? Ok. I mentioned these ships because they have a nice large window.

Oh boy, stop kidding me. I'm certainly no noob, trust me... I deliver results, you not so much - obviously.
I'm not here for bragging, I'm really trying to help to figure out what's wrong on your side. I don't have to, mind you.
If you follow the link in my sig, you will see that I'm very much interested in exploring the whole mining process and always open to learn something new...

Theres nothing wrong on my side, its the game, its an acknowledged bug and I just opened this thread to ask whether there will be a hotfix soon. Check the amount of replies in the issue tracker, theres a boatload of people who have this problem. Your first reply in this thread also clearly showed me how interested in actually helping you are ;-)

I'm a bit surprised we haven't heard any feedback on a fix.... it's quite an annoying issue (?)

Ok, now I have to ask. What's wrong with smuggling?
Illegal goods incorrectly attract the -25% price debuff usually afforded to stolen goods only. By illegal goods, i refer explicitly to goods lawfully purchased in one jurisdiction and taken to a bm in a jurisdiction where they are illegal; no theft.

This makes it all but impossible to turn a profit on any goods except in the most extreme circumstances (e.g smuggling to a perfect demand, stateful market with an a powerplay buff).

It's been that way since 3.3. With a naive programmer hat on, it's simply removing whatever says "if illegal; price = price*.75"

I'm not even asking it to be rebalanced to compete with all the other broken cash cows. I just want it to turn a basic profit again. Until that happens, smuggling, an entire career, is dead.

The PWA is clearly not functioning as it should. No one is asking for a market correction. Just want the tools to work as they are supposed to.

Perhaps the PWA should add features of the Surface Scanner, not only highlight but also possible to dial into specific material (tritium, pianite, etc). So firing the prospector limpet is only necessary on the right asteroid, which also tracks when an asteroid had been mined, so mining can be in any direction rather than using a point of interest or planet as a target direction.
