Purchase ability to name systems

I think it would be awesome to be able to name a system.

I would pay $20 for the ability to name a system. Of course, system named wpuld be subject to scrutiny and I would be ok with an approval process.

Ideally we would be able to place a settlement, even a bunch of commanders could settle the same area.

Requirements would be that before someone could purchase a system they would have to be the first commander to discover the system and first to turn in the data.

I have found some really neat systems Id love to name and even call "home".

$20 is a fair price and a way to fund future content.

I seem to recall that it took quite a large Kickstarter donation to get to name a system so your twenty bucks would make a few people choke. ;)

Doesn't FD from time to time auction off naming rights at charity events? Your 20 bucks won't get you far, though.

I am only in favour of your idea if there is also a setting in game that enables me to keep the original naming, or the official ED naming.
I don't want to encounter star systems named after the mommies and daddies of players or the latest girl/boyfriend they bedded.
God forbid.

Well, the game has been out forever now.

Kickstarter got it all going. Now, theres millions of players.

If they are going to keep releasing content there needs to be a way to raise money.

I know, theres some kinks to iron out in my idea. But, Im sure theres a way to make it happen at a readonable price that wont make kickstarters angry.

Im sure thatd be something simple that could be done. An approval process would also weed out some stuff.

I have no knowledge about this.
