Put back Powerplay events back into Galnet

Not really sure why these aren't in here.. but why are there no events being reported in Galnet about significant powerplay events? i.e when Felicia Winters wins Miroman in expansion or someone gets rebuffed at expansion. Stuff like that.

If you want to make Powerplay more relevant, put those "events' into Galnet. Try to stop pretending powerplay doesn't exist.

I think this would be a great idea. It would let people see more about what occurs in PP, and not just try and guess what system was gained or lost, etc.

Unfortunately, with PP being a bit stagnant until updates/changes are made, there may not be all that much to keep adding. But it would be great to up the exposure, and hopefully increase the flow of new CMDRs to try it out for actual powerplay rather than just module shop and never return.

I agree. I personally find the Power Play mechanic to be a critical component in my desire to play. Given that almost all actions have consequences within this dynamic universe, Power Play activities should have more of a focus.

So much has been happening in PP over the last few months and I can only agree to such a proposition. Although the oncoming weeks may not be the ones for massive battles like the operations the Federation powers carried out against Aisling Duval sucessfully, then there will still be plenty to fill the void of galnet.

I like this idea! Power Play could see more traffic if the powers' weekly achievements were slightly more prominent. Absolutely report on expansions (failed or succeeded).

The outcomes of "preparation wars" could also be listed, given the often monumental efforts of haulers competing for those systems- "Edmund Mahon prevailed in preparing Quince, beating Aisling Duval, Pranav Antal, and Denton Patreus for an attempt to expand to the system in the coming cycle."

And of course, report turmoils, systems at risk, and lost systems.

Pretty easy to automate generation of a report like this, too!

Snore.

Now that they have GalNet Audio, this would fit in nicely. I rarely used to read GalNet stuff, and when I did it seemed like there was a lot. Now that it's read to me as I fly around, I get thru it pretty quick. Now they can add more stuff, and it'll be heard <probably more than read>.

I've also wanted to be able to subscribe to some local (in-system) news outlets and have it read too.

I doubt any sort of manual reporting for Powerplay will be feasible due to the cost of translating the text into multiple languages but as stated above, & I have stated elsewhere, a Thursday automatically generated story, or series of stories staged throughout the day for each Power, explaining what has just happened to the general player base would be a great help in promoting Powerplay and making it relevant to more Commanders.

This idea would be great of you could drive it via data- newsflashes about undermining spikes, outcomes for expansions etc. As you say its making Powerplay come alive from the numbers, and not actually giving the numbers on their own and asking players to decipher them.
