PvE pulse lasers: What mod should I pick?

I'm still to apply an experimental. Any suggestions good sir?

Weeell from pre 3.0 there werent many good ones, on account of most of them reducing damage. I would go for any mod that increases dps without any dodgy secondary "balancing effect". For example, for beam lasers I believe one of the thermal mods increased weapon damage substantially if you were at or above 100% heat... Shame then, that your damage was massively reduced if your ship wasn't melting.

Looking at the effects, overcharged or multi servos I guess... But that damage increase is super lame. Does anyone know if it scales at all? 3% rof or damage increase is awful in most cases, surely?

To be clear, focused damage falloff is only extended from 500m to 1km.
LR is full damage out to 6km.
Focused does get the nod in piercing.
They use the same EPS.

Aye, I see that now, and my fighting style is pretty close, so I think I'll see more benefits from the improved piercing.
 
I am thinking about a laser build for a bounty/reshunter Chief and agree with focused being the best solution for pulse, combining armor piercing and range. Edit: but maybe longrange is even better, if you have a good enough weapon's capacitator.

Regarding the experimental effect I wonder if multi-servos and oversized are identical. They both raise damage by 3% with 5% powerdraw penalty.
Overcharged deals more damage directly while mulit-servos deal more damage by increase RoF. Is there any difference at all except mat requirements?

I also consider adding one thermal vent beam to deal with heat. I think it was pretty good pre 4.0, guess it didn't change.

I've only really used pulse lasers on big ships, with big PDist's, but I've never really found a need to use Efficient with pulse-lasers.

I've found the most useful thing to do with them, for PvE, is to fit a pair of pulse-turrets, mod' 'em both for long-range and then apply the Emissive XFX to one and the Scramble Spectrum XFX to the other then just let them do their own thing.

They don't do a great deal of damage but they do reach out and touch enemy ships, prevent them from going dark and cause them problems.
