Modes PvE stealing from PvP? I can't see that!

The solo having an affect on open is a myth wrapped in smoking mirrors wrapped in crazy conspiracy theory. I played in solo for a very long time, then I switched to open and have been in open for some time....my playstyle didn't change, my affect on the galaxy didn't change, and I challenge anyone to produce empirical evidence that says otherwise. You cannot account for every single player's actions 24/7 in a system and how they affect a faction/PP/whatever EVEN IF we were all in open together with no solo, so your ability (or lack of) to actively "defend" against another player's actions through combat alone are incredibly small.

Solo has and always will be the scapegoat to blame for <insert pvp complaint>

Hilarious by the way since most of the game (even for pvp players) is still PVE. Show me a pure 100% pvp only player in ED....i'll wait.

Hello,

I have no problem with the Open mode and it is ok, that Elite is also the home of PvP including the effort of balancing etc..
Many of them will leave anyways, as soon as SC comes - i do think Elite will last that 5 years till then. :p
As much as I enjoy Elite, yea I think the majority, if not over half, of the playerbase will migrate to SC. The SC hate-train is more like a self-obsessed bandwagon to try to avoid competition that will otherwise wipe the floor with Elite. I mean, SC already has as much content, if not a wee bit more, than Elite will have at the end of the predicted content of Q4 this year

I seriously doubt the validity of speculated numbers of a vaporware tech demo (that's taken 5 years to complete) taking a "majority" or even "half" the current ED player base.

I think many PvP players will leave, thinking it's the solution to their "problems" in ED (not having wanton fish to shoot at) but will eventually come slinking back and not a word about how they were wrong in their speculation of how SC will supposedly "kill" ED.

ED will be absolutely fine. NMS was supposed to be a great hit, too. We didn't feel a thing when it released.

If the other game does come out and is just what the PvP enthusiasts want/need and they leave ED then its a win/win for all. However from what I know I am not sure it will turn out as most players hope.
