Ah, so we are meant to jump through the never ending set of conditions (ala roleplay) that suit everyone (I've seen comments over the years, nothing satisfies..). Long ago people tried player on player pirating, the reaction was the same.
I tried to join a group of PVPers in my Mining Combat Hauler once. They all laughed and said I couldn't play with them because I didn't have a proper PVP ship![]()
Why are they so against PVP Mining Combat Haulers? I think it's the only ship that allows me to truly express myself - and I feel excluded!
Yeah people here don't complain about PVP. They complain about players who think ganking explorers and traders is PVP.
Still this?
The ONLY reason people should be 'killing' other commanders in this game is if a) They're consenting to it, b) They have a reasonable bounty on their heads, or c) they become aggressive during a transfer of ownership transaction.
ANY other reason isn't PvP. It's Ganking. And that should result in being banned from the game. (after multiple warnings of course).
This entire 'thing' seems to stem from the ridiculous assertion that the game title 'Elite: Dangerous' somehow implies that it's not only fine to blow everyone up - it's a directive implicit within the name. Which is utter crap, of course.
Any 'PvP' player that doesn't fall into the categories as mentioned above, and still defends their right to do what they're doing, are the people that deserve the disdain from the PvE population. And any 'PvP' player who respects the POINT of player combat in this game should feel the same way.
Not to mention all the picky initiatives just to rile up players. Like that fake cancer fundraising and that isn't by far the only one.
We all know why it is perceived this way. It's because SOME are so full of themselves and reek of self righteousness and entitlement it is not even funny.
I really don't understand the dislike of PvP players in the Open group. Elite: Dangerous is *much* more exciting in Open than in a private group, because real players are much more interesting and varied than NPCs. The thrill of being able to evade those people lying in wait for you is part of the thrill of the game. In truth, there aren't that many players that attack other players in a very big galaxy, and if you encounter one there's almost always a way to escape if you keep your wits about you.
Other players are what keeps the game alive, but you *can* have your cake and eat it, because if you don't want that there are loads of PvE, PwP or solo groups too.
I dunno about you but the NPCs are bots as far as I am concerned and are tedious.. Player encounters have depth and meaning. Might sound odd but I wonder about the collective IQ of folks who'd rather encounter a bot than a real player.. Perhaps thats a bit unkind but whislt everyone has a view not all on this planet are afforded the same level of intelligence.![]()
You've misunderstood the sentiment.
Self-entitled entities who think that their way is the only way are not welcome on this forum.
It's those people who are toxic.
It's because SOME are so full of themselves and reek of self righteousness and entitlement it is not even funny.
In your opinion
You are probably Young , you ha time to spare and you are growing
Most probably.
Once you ll have a family a stress full work a woman and a dog trust me the only thing you want in mostly of cade id just 1 maybe 2 ( in the w.e) hours of Peace
I have no time neirher interest in playing with people idiots or Young one which pass hlaf of their life in front of a monitor and need to gang the other just beccause you know life is hard ( with them... of coirse)
I know we have heated debates, but recent events sadden me.
I recently visited a PvP discord. I learned that they were hosting a PvP event. I asked why they weren't posting it here on the official forum, and the reply was:
"Forums aren't the place for pvp. Posters only cry about it, mods don't like it. Everyone who would be interested is on reddit or on the discord servers we posted to."
The one I spoke with didn't care to elaborate, so I'll just leave the comment here. But I'm genuinely surprised that the official forum isn't considered the goto platform for all who play Elite: Dangerous.
Maybe I'm just unaware of the importance of reddit and discord. Or that this forum was considered toxic by PvPers. I asked if it would be frowned upon if I shared the event here, and got no reply. Consent through silence I guess. So here's a link. It sounds like fun:

See you in the black commanders.![]()
