At which point the usual suspects on this forum start arguing its not 'proper' RP and just an excuse for griefing (see: any 13th legion announcement that isnt over zealously moved to lore and roleplay)

In EVE, they'd have accepted you with open arms. Free bait is always welcomed. Some games have a more mature PvP scene than others, which seems to be directly proportional to the game's inherent complexity and the ingenuity of it's players.

Well I will not be attending on Saturday, however I hope everyone has fun. Spread the word if you cannot make it.

Oh and ban the PvPers and PvE only brigade, might make it quiet around here but the discussions would be better.

Oh well it was harder than I thought to be positve without slagging off!

We all know why it is perceived this way. It's because SOME are so full of themselves and reek of self righteousness and entitlement it is not even funny.

The "voice" of open? Give me a break.
Not to mention all the picky initiatives just to rile up players. Like that fake cancer fundraising and that isn't by far the only one.

ANY other reason isn't PvP. It's Ganking. And that should result in being banned from the game. (after multiple warnings of course).

This entire 'thing' seems to stem from the ridiculous assertion that the game title 'Elite: Dangerous' somehow implies that it's not only fine to blow everyone up - it's a directive implicit within the name. Which is utter crap, of course.

Any 'PvP' player that doesn't fall into the categories as mentioned above, and still defends their right to do what they're doing, are the people that deserve the disdain from the PvE population. And any 'PvP' player who respects the POINT of player combat in this game should feel the same way.

I really don't understand the dislike of PvP players in the Open group. Elite: Dangerous is *much* more exciting in Open than in a private group, because real players are much more interesting and varied than NPCs. The thrill of being able to evade those people lying in wait for you is part of the thrill of the game. In truth, there aren't that many players that attack other players in a very big galaxy, and if you encounter one there's almost always a way to escape if you keep your wits about you.

Other players are what keeps the game alive, but you *can* have your cake and eat it, because if you don't want that there are loads of PvE, PwP or solo groups too.

In your opinion

You are probably Young , you ha time to spare and you are growing

Most probably.

Once you ll have a family a stress full work a woman and a dog trust me the only thing you want in mostly of cade id just 1 maybe 2 ( in the w.e) hours of Peace

I have no time neirher interest in playing with people idiots or Young one which pass hlaf of their life in front of a monitor and need to gang the other just beccause you know life is hard ( with them... of coirse)

So im less intelligent than your average pvp player because id rather shot a bot than another player.
With remarks like that is it any wonder some parts of this forum might pick up pitch forks.

Personally dont care how people play the game, i also know a lot of people who wont come to these forums for various reasons. But with reagrds to the OP i do think some of it rings true.

Don't people usually engage in reasonable discussions with you, regardless of being in agreement with you or not?

Where did that massive forum rep (the one over your avatar) came from, if forum people presumadly hate you so much and ostracize you?

And folks have right. If you are PvPer then you need to pretty well manage your infraction portfolio to stay active without beeing banned. In fact it may be more interesting than playing Elite sometimes.

I'm not really into PVP (for now) but it is a shame that there is no space for them in the forum.
They could have a sub-forum like powerplay or engineers, it would be nice.

I might participate to the event saturday :)
