PvP vs Piracy...they are not the same.

But it's up to him! And if you can't deal with that possibility to happen, honestly, go play Solo or Group. That's it.
If I want to prevent you from progressing in the game, let's say you're a miner or something like that, I'll do so by destroying your ship.

That's the game mechanics.

Where's the challenge if not there?

I should have compounded a little better. Someone that -repeatedly- blows you out of the sky for no reason other than something passing through their minds is trying to grief you. I'm in full ssupport of being able to pirate should I so choose. Targetting a single player just for giggles though? Not so much. While that 400cr bounty on the Sidewinder pilot might be money. Easy money even, I'm not gonna take it "just because I can, haha lulz, welcome to Elite."

Awwwwww see, now you've just gone and made me even more confused.

Sorry, I can't be the one to take credit for that.

I left the other thread because I was sick of you petulantly nit-picking my every post and due to your constant inaccurate use of words and concepts that you very obviously barely understand. I have no interest in having you follow me around plying the same, irrelevant rubbish in every thread. I do not do this often but I am afraid I am going to have to block you from now on.

Why? Because you cannot answer a few simple questions that expose the flaws in your arguments? Or because your need to keep on reiterating your claim of educational qualifications exposes a supercilious character flaw? And for the record. I have always at least attacked just the argument. By all means block me. As such an experienced debate artist as yourself should know, it is the audience who must be persuaded, not your opponent.

Limpets only work with PvE, because they don't run.

If you're going to suggest that PvE players aren't having fun playing their mode then that is a problem with FD, not the players. The same could be said about my playstyle. I guess if you view trading as work and not having fun then we both have gripes with the game. Maybe we both have something in common.

Anyway, I'm going to dig in to some nice bacon and spinach quiche and call it a night. I live in Texas, USA and it's way past my bedtime.

I've read most your replies and you are providing a lot of false info on player piracy. It's not as easy mode to do PROFITABLY as trade grinding for a python then interdicting and killing every player you see, while still providing for your wife and raising your kids as takes up so much of your time of course, as you say. In fact it took me a while figuring out best ship outfitting, how to get people to drop cargo without shooting and making sure they abandon not jettison, how to get a limpit onto those who only run...which I do a lot by the way, at least half the time. Besides the necessity of being skilled at interdictions and extremely skilled at combat or kitted to escape from everyone.

Player piracy is viable albeit difficult to make a living. I have about 20 million in assets with over half from black market sales...though the better pirates will successfully get them to abandon cargo and that goes into trade sales. On the other hand I have over 30 insurance claims worth around 10 million or so lost. A number of players who post post here are 100,000 to millions richer from killing me.

Successfully pirating players is very difficult and you failed at it miserably from the sounds of it. Many others are making decent credits off of it, but you didn't so that is your excuse for why you kill other players, because player piracy is broke? Cute. When a post is about how to interdict and kill new players in the game's most powerful ship I'm sure you'll have a lot of insight, but as far as piracy goes you are very ignorant.

Who said unwanted attacking is griefing? Thargoids arent griefers, we want Thargoids but no griefers... if you cant say CareBear in reference to a player type you shouldn't be allowed to label Open players who enjoy competition 'griefers'.

Well said.

I just experienced my first player interdiction. I was in Eravate approaching the Station at the end of a 50LY journey, smuggling Slaves, when a dastardly human Cmdr interdicted me.

I submitted, hailed him a greeting and asked him to reconsider firing upon me. He just opened up, firing missiles at me.

I attempted to fight, but didn't do a very good job of it to be honest. At 50% Hull, I started to boost away, as he let loose more missiles at me. I just made the jump to SC with 14% Hull left!

Was this griefing?

OF COURSE IT WASN'T GRIEFING!

Thanks, man. You gave me faith that this game isn't going to be overgone by the panda army.
