Python/Class 6 thruster issue? (Devs please have a look)

because it is also NOW NOT UNTOUCHABLE!

onyl the shield cells prevent quick python kills

and once the shields are down, i only need 2 rail hits to disable its engines.......its so simple then

but as said....i will sit in my viper again in future......flying in wing with my m8tes....killing ANYTHING in this game.....easily

It is simple, but these guys do not understand this, because they want to kill everything with their stock starter cobra.
They also do not understand it, because they never flied Python.

Both of you, stop evading my statements.

I will repeat myself again for the last time. The Python BY DESIGN is not meant to be untouchable, never was, never will be.
The Python is BY DESIGN a freighter with advanced combat abilities, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. The lore, story and history of the game dictate that.

Do you two understand my words? I mean really, can you read it and know their meaning?

Will you understand that no one wants to take away your fun playing this game, no one wants to 'nerf' the Python because they can't afford it.
It's not even remotely necessary to own one to argue about it, it's common sense.

The Python is being adjusted because currently it is behaving against the rules of its lore and role. Do you know what that means?
I can't make this easier or even clearer.

The Python is by design just a freighter with combat abilities.

it might have been the case in the OLD elite, yes.....but since i follow this game-remake, the python was "multi-role".
atm it is the ONLY viable goal for a combat-pilot to get to....after the nerf, there will be no more goal then....

fer de lance?! who knows.....we know NOTHING about it yet....neither price, nor capabilities.
same with the crap looking hunter with obviouly as crap weapon placement as the clipper....

viper = endgame for a fighter pilot?!
yeah....great.....

so i achieved my endgame after 3 days of play......expensive game

i worked so hard for the python.....for sure more than ANY TRADER! i earned 90% of the stock python with combat....not lazy trading by just using the next available online trade-route search tool that also takes away any effort to find a route by yourself!

but to deck out this ship i also started trading with the python...it feels like cheating! its no risk and no efford in trading at all...but thats another issue to discuss.....combat is totally UP compared with trading in income...
so after i got my goal of my hard "work", frontier is going to nerf it to useless as combat ship.....

thanks to whiners

17% loss of turn rate, acceleration and speed = sitting duck! i will not be able to get my opponents in front anymore if they know what they do....so i need to equip it with turrets?! lol.....yeah.....but wait....they nerf also chaff i heared....yeah....take any more skill out of this crap game....thanks to unskilled whiners again, that just want to push a button for insta killing anything with their gimbals and turrets! lol

i think my elite-period will not last long though

for what was the long alpha and beta phase for?!!? if not balancing beforehand!?

it turns out, that ED is not a tad better than SC balancing atm......with the difference, that SC is still pre alpha, but ED is full release...

this is ridiculous!

Yes, but they want it to be a battle ship. Someone else here mentions they finally got their 'lambourghini', referring to the Python. No joke. All this outrage is basically just a bunch of players being upset FD has a different idea of what the Python is than they have. And some people deal with that with little grace, to put it mildly. It is not that they cannot understand you, they don't want to understand you. It is just easier for some to pretend there is a massive injustice being down by cowardly jealeous noobs who force the feeble-minded devs to nerf their favourite ship. It is nonsense, ofcourse, but some people just need such a narrative to cope.

After re-balancing a Python is still going to have its 3 large hard points and 2 medium ones, the positions of these hard points are not going to be changed.

Have you missed the post that there will be a heavy fighter added to the game, namely a Vulture with 2 large hard points and 4 utility slots?

If you think there is a primary goal, an endgame or victory to achieve in this game, then you are wrong and this game might not be for you.
There is no endgame. Also, this game is not, by far, complete. There are many ships to come. That does not legitimate the Python's current state.
It is the best fighter at the moment as a result of a mistake, not by intention.

But are you going to give us something to put in them C3 gimbaled MC's, C3 missiles?

I can't give you +rep twice, sorry :-\

The Python BY DESIGN is not meant to be untouchable, .

But it is not untachable NOW. And it exactly fit to lore. Slow well armed ship with good shields. Not for attack but for defend. When shields will be cropped it loose his defending capability.

You CAN read WITH understanding?

if not, please leave us alone.

Python ? Fighter? NOW? We talking about same ship? :D

i think my elite-period will not last long though

Two combat-oriented ships have been announced, and we know roughly half the ships are still missing so there is plenty more to come. Right now there is no high-end combat ship. Yes, it sucks, espescially if someone like you worked hard to get one. But the solution is to get the battleships in the game, not taking a random tradeship and turn it into something it is not. IMHO it would be best if the python was 'nerfed' at the same time new ships were added. People like you could just sell the Python and get whatever they added.

It is not true.
Everybody said than python is not na godship and have huge disadvangates and can be beaten by Viper. It should be boosted, not nerfed.

It is normal, you playing, you have better ship, you are stronger player, harder to beat.

I think as other, larger ships like python should not be able to beat by one craft. 2-3 smaller crafts should be able to engage Python in cooperative, not single.

The Python is a trader, not a combat ship. The vulture is due to be the heaviest combat ship, and it is smaller then an Asp. But lets for a moment ignore that and look at the situation today. We saw posted earlier in this thread a video of a viper destroying a Python; the Viper was prepared for this encounter (if you read the notes below the vid) and had the loadout especially for this job. He knew his target, he executed his attack perfectly and killed his victim quickly and easily.

The Python, by contrast, was just farming NPC bounties at an anarchy Nav point and took no notice of his assassin's approach. I very much doubt he had 4pips in SYS as dumfires are not that effective against shields, and that's why he didn't have enough time to fire off a Shield cell, which would have brought him back to full health with the attackers initiative lost. Any decent Python pilot would have left pips ins sys and popped Cells while he ripped the Viper to shreds with 2 pips in weapons. This Pilot was complacent, reacted badly and had a bad loadout (turrets for PvP?) so he was probably poorly specced in modules as well.

This is what it takes to kill a Python in a smaller ship; everything in your favour, and the Python to do everything wrong. If the Python pilot was better prepared and on his game (as in another video I saw posted by CMDR Kremmen) then he wouldn't have taken a scratch. Even if the Python was a combat ship, it was still too fast and nimble. But it IS a trader that hadn't been properly balanced until now.

I love how people are complaining and making out the Python nerfs are going to make it obsolete when they do not even know what buffs/nerfs other ships will be getting.

For all we know the viper will get nerfs, yet you argue back and forward like you know the outcome of the Python after the update.

Patience is needed and as a Python owner i agree with what has been suggested so far so don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about. I could fight vs 4-5 commanders in vipers cobra's in my Python and just tank all damage so i do believe that was OP.

If i had allies with me then we would have been unbeatable and whilst i enjoyed testing out the Pythons tanking it was definitely over the top.

But it is not untachable NOW.

You CAN read WITH understanding?

if not, please leave us alone.

@Aleksej maybe now it's time to end this? I think we are done here. You proved to have more patience than I have, guess that's why you are a mod and I'm not ;)

This is pointless

Some good points there.
I kind of feel sorry for you and I don't even have a Python to completely understand.

Why would I give you that?

In the right hands - it is untouchable. If you can't win a fight, you can always evade it.

So Cobra is untoachable too with 450 boosted speed?
Clipper is untachable too? Viper?

You cant win you can evade....
It is your definition of 'untouchable', not mine. But i do not see much logic here.

Python cant engage anything. Almost everything can run because python is Slow.
It is shielded and well armed so if you do not have skill or firepower do not engage it - Leave it.
Python is like an bulldog on very short chain. He can beat when you are in range, but it is easy to evade.

Do you even bother reading the posts you quote or the other peoples posts including the Dev's that answer you?

The Python needs nerfing it is way too strong, you wont even take into account that many nerfs to the other ships could be planned for all you know.

The thread should be closed its a circular argument with some people just shutting their eyes and whining for no reason.

with the loss of 17% turn rate, it will be nearly impossible to use fixed weapons tehn.....i will have to rely on gimbals or turrets......and this change also makes ma belly defensless....
so as combat pilot it is fair to say (specially in PVP), that the python is obsolete with this changes alone.
ten take chaff and shield cell nerf in addition, and the python will be an easy pray even for an eagle in future! it will be soooo easy for this ship then, to just stick under the belly! in posisition fo slowly take out the second best shields in the game.....

great

but would you mind to give me the link to the vulture?! missed that.

FREAKY! As I was writing my last post the (victorious) Python pilot from Kremmen's video starts writing his own contribution... are you keeping your Python, SuBSynk?

You really think i disscuss 33 pages without reading discussion opponents?
It will be respectless for people. I like argue, but do not offend me with such low words. Let stay on some level of discussion.
Are you crazy or it is a joke? What a kind of man you got me? ;)

I can agree with you - topic should be closed, we repeating same arguments from 20 pages.
vote close()

The truth has been spoken!

Nothing has changed the hardpoints. Also rolling will stop your belly being defenceless.

Has these changes made it into the 1.06 update? I jumped straight to P33 after reading Mike admission that the ingame stats were wrong.
