Python Fighters ???

I do feel that the game needs a few more medium ships with internals comparable to the Python.
There is no competition at all in that most important niche whatsoever.
And it would be great if these new ships could carry a fighter.
We will see what happens in the future. FD will no doubt add new ships eventually.

You don't seem to want to play the game. You want to create your own game play rules and then force FD to abide by them.
That is not how it works. You should create your own game then...

Actually I've been playing since premium beta and that's not what I'm saying at all as you yourself have already noted. But do carry on.
All I'm effectively saying is that locking a flagship expansion of this season to the biggest most expensive ships in the game is unnecessarily locking players and customers out of that content and it is a game after all.
The comprehension failures on these forums, just for the excuse of starting an argument, is astounding.

But if the expansion is dealing with something that takes a large amount of physical space in a ship, some people flying the smallest ships are always going to be penalised. Is that an argument for the Sidewinder to be able to equip fighters? (Though given the Sidey can fit an SRV bay, and the SRV isn't much smaller than a fighter...)

Or perhaps, people just don't agree that all ships must be all things to all men? And just because content is present, it doesn't mean it should be immediately accessible to all, with no compromises.

Aside from altering the internals of the Python directly, Frontier have seen quite enamoured of 'variants' to boost the ship ranks. So perhaps (as with the T6 / Keelback) a Python MKII could be added with fewer internal slots, less manoeuvrability, but the ability to mount a fighter bay? Or they could just bite the bullet and add the Boa. ;)

And here we go again. If you read what I actually wrote, I'm saying that they should've put some thought into a viable medium ship to use fighters in. Not every damn ship in the game!

Maybe they could base this theoretical ship off the T6. They could call it the "Keelback". Then, at long last, people wouldn't have to save up 100 million + for a ship that could carry fighters!

As I said before and I will repeat it: you are not locked out. You just need to play the game to reach a certain level.
It is a very common practice for game mechanics.
I still can't use the Federal Corvette for example as I do not have the rank. I am not locked out of that content. To get access I play the game and will eventually get my prize. That is what playing a game is about.
The only thing you need to do is play the game to get access to certain ships with the features you want.

I am not sure what you are on about. A good look in the mirror might reveal your own comprehension failures.
I am very much astounded at your wish to be able to bypass certain game mechanics to gain immediate access to certain features.
I wonder if you understand how games work in general.

There are many games in which weapons, powers, vehicles, levels etc are locked behind many ours of gameplay.
ED is not different in that respect. As I said: You do not seem to want to play the game.

I'm saying that they should've put some thought into a viable medium ship to use fighters in. Not every damn ship in the game!

Yes would be nice. Ships are the lifeblood of the game. The more the merrier.
But FD can only do so much in a given time. This is a project in the midst of development after all.
I think you will get your wish eventually.
But for now you will have to do with what is currently in the game.
And you are not locked out of anything. You have the same access to all the content as I do, if you bought Horizons.

And I wrote "how about a Python variant"? ;)

A Python variant would be awesome.

I know i'm just another member on this forum but i'm a member that plays elite and that's important as we make up the player base for elite, while you continue to refine and add content to the game. Please add fighters to the Python even if you made a modified mini fighter bay, its the experience I and so many others are asking for with there favorite ship the python.

i don't know another nicer way to ask so please could you add this option.

Thanks CMD Jacob War

Python with fighters for multicrews sake

I just think the Python has a useless second seat because who is putting turreted weapons on that just for the sake of giving someone in multicrew something to do. Way more practical to give it a fighter bay so it actually has a multicrew purpose rather than just a seat for someone to watch in

I agree that the python could use some love. It got hit with the nerf hammer way back when and has been passed over for a bunch of things. Like the military grade slot. Even in the game's own lore, the python has been used as a military ship. And it can't use SLFs. The T-7 can, but the python, which can hold a similar amount of cargo and is a military ship according to the lore, can't? While it is true that the python is one of the most used ships, and for good reason, it is about time that it got something new.

I just think hitting up months-old threads is necromancy.
