Python Fighters ???

Yes, necromancy.

Yes, I get the reference, I was just having some fun. I'm more used to the term necroposting/necroposter. Necromancy is "the supposed practice of communicating with the dead, especially in order to predict the future" which just seems a bit off to me. I do get the idea that necromancy can also refer to raising the dead which makes sense for a dead thread. I'm guessing the necromancer used a series of incantations and spell books to revive this thread.

I hope no goats were slain in the resurrection of this thread. ;____;

With the term, it's like any internetting, there are "regional" accents so to speak. In my circles this always been the art of necromancy as applied to the post. Edit: Just realized it's likely because of the RPG and gaming background my circles share. Necromancy is a career there and raising dead things is pretty much expected and desired. Skeleton armies should be for players too!

Another example: I'm in an ancient IRC channel with old friends and we all do emotes in similar and specific ways after so long together. Someone new was in IRC for a short time and used c: and :I instead of :) and :| and it "read" like a foreign accent.

python doesn't need a dedicated fighter.

now we can talk about a new class of fighter thats the equivalent of a space motorcycle with big guns that send it spinning each shot and more delicate than a shieldess imperil fighter at 1% hull but 7 times more responsive and faster with a limited time it can be deployed all ships can kick out of the cargo hatch.

What is with all this 'balance' crap? FD doesn't give a darn about balance, and actually, intentionally, unbalanced the game with the introduction of their cherished Engineers.

It's all a load of bovine droppings IMO...

To some degree, maybe. It's not their fault tho that some choose not to use Engineers to their fullest.

First, we had the hydrogen bomb.
Then more sophisticated nuclear weapons.
Then Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.
Finally, Multiple Independently targeted Reentry Vehicles - you know, because one 30 megaton warhead just isn't enough.
Now you want fighters in pythons?

Why not Corvette Launched Pythons and just get it over with already?

Naw, that's probably overkill. It would be cool however, if I could launch a couple of Vultures from my Corvette... :D

Python doesn't need fighters!:D

neither does that corvette or the conda. your point?

No, first was the atomic bomb, a fission weapon. Hydrogen bombs are fusion, or thermonuclear weapons. let's get the historical and scientific facts correct if you are going to go that route. Why am I doing this? Accuracy. ;)

No, not "maybe". The whole RNG thing means that no two ships can be outfitted identically. Period.

Since when has play balance ever depended upon identically outfitted ships? ED is not some IROC-like racing league where an uber-body dictates configuration.

In real world war/racing/whatever, you -Always- have variation in configurations. Heck, you even have variations in capabilities with the exact SAME configuration from ship to ship. Not intended, but its the nature of complex systems. That is reality. Period.

With a 30 Megaton payload how much accuracy do you REALLY need?

I don't think that medium or smaller ships should have a fighter bay... just seems stupid to me.
