Greetings Fellow Cmd's... I need some assistance in making a decision on my next ship. I picked up a Python and am just about finished getting it fitted. A rank. I haven't really flown it yet because I'm waiting for the new update to hit. I just realized that if I trade in the Python, I can easily pick up an Anaconda. But I would have to grind to fit it again. Also I would be low on credits. My quandary is should I skip the Python and go with the Conda and grind to re-fit it or stick with the Python that is about ready to fly.. Any and all opinions are welcome... Thanks.![]()
This depends on role. If you are primarily trading and enjoy that, the Conda is a better option. My preference however is the Python and there are several key factors as to why I prefer this ship:
- It can land on medium pads, giving total freedom to go where you please and do whatever missions you want with current mechanics/docking ports. (2.1 included)
- The Python is the best high gravity ship. I have landed my A-Grade Python heavily armed and armored with ease on a 9.77g planet with easy repetition. This Anaconda can not do this anywhere near as easily.
- The Python has massive fitting capabilities and immense diversity.
- It's thin profile helps drastically to protect your internal components from armor penetration from the front and sides providing a good advantage in 1v1 fights.
- It's weapon load out allows for 2 large turrets on the shoulder mount to be combined with very accurate fixed weapons on the 3 nose mounts for great combat versatility and is how I fit all my Pythons for combat.
- The Python has fantastic maneuverability if you fully use all thrust vectors.
In contrast, if you want a ship that can do as much as possible all at once, the Anaconda is the answer and it is the closest you can get to fitting a ship with Star Trek's Voyager like capability.
I've flown all of the multi roles with full A-Grade and my favorite is continuously the Python.
