Horizons Python or Conda...?

Greetings Fellow Cmd's... I need some assistance in making a decision on my next ship. I picked up a Python and am just about finished getting it fitted. A rank. I haven't really flown it yet because I'm waiting for the new update to hit. I just realized that if I trade in the Python, I can easily pick up an Anaconda. But I would have to grind to fit it again. Also I would be low on credits. My quandary is should I skip the Python and go with the Conda and grind to re-fit it or stick with the Python that is about ready to fly.. Any and all opinions are welcome... Thanks. :D

This depends on role. If you are primarily trading and enjoy that, the Conda is a better option. My preference however is the Python and there are several key factors as to why I prefer this ship:

- It can land on medium pads, giving total freedom to go where you please and do whatever missions you want with current mechanics/docking ports. (2.1 included)

- The Python is the best high gravity ship. I have landed my A-Grade Python heavily armed and armored with ease on a 9.77g planet with easy repetition. This Anaconda can not do this anywhere near as easily.

- The Python has massive fitting capabilities and immense diversity.

- It's thin profile helps drastically to protect your internal components from armor penetration from the front and sides providing a good advantage in 1v1 fights.

- It's weapon load out allows for 2 large turrets on the shoulder mount to be combined with very accurate fixed weapons on the 3 nose mounts for great combat versatility and is how I fit all my Pythons for combat.

- The Python has fantastic maneuverability if you fully use all thrust vectors.

In contrast, if you want a ship that can do as much as possible all at once, the Anaconda is the answer and it is the closest you can get to fitting a ship with Star Trek's Voyager like capability.

I've flown all of the multi roles with full A-Grade and my favorite is continuously the Python.

You can land any ship on 9.77g planet with ease, I'd hardly say the Python is anything special in that regard. Here's a fully laden 2000 tonne ship doing it, what issues are you having with the Anaconda?

Would rep, but i have to spread it around apparently.

Am i the only one that really enjoys landing on high g worlds?

I want to find a spaceport with a shipyard, on a high g world to be my new home in 2.1.

I'm not saying it's not possible, just that the Python handles it best. This doesn't just mean in its ability to maneuver but also its ability to handle heat very well. The Python simply has VERY powerful vertical thrusters in comparison to other ships. I don't really have problems landing any of the ships, save the Cutter/Clipper which are really just frustrating more than anything due to their woefully under powered vertical thrusters.

I love the T9. It's a fantastic planetary exploration ship. Very versatile fitting options, tons of cargo and its lumbering nature makes it a beauty to fly in high G. One of the most fun ships when I was doing the original Horizons beta.

The Anaconda has double the cargo capacity of the Python and a much better jump range. If those things are key for you then get the Conda with A-rated FSD and D-rated everything else. Othewise the Python is better in every single way.
