Powerplay Q: Minor faction pending state "outbreak" - what to do to counteract?

Greetings,

one of the adepts might know: What should a player group do to stop a pending state of outbreak from becoming a current/act state of outbreak? :)

Thanks in advance,
me

This is a background simulation question, not one related to PowerPlay.

That being said, logic dictates that an outbreak (disease) is countered with medicines.

I stand corrected. Are you german?

I am quite able to _assume_ something like that, too. I am asking if someone _knows_ for sure.

Indeed not. Refers to a current state, not a pending state.

Rather than direct you elsewhere. Deliver Basic Medicines. The Ourbreak will probably happen anyway but it can be conuurted and even used to teh systems benefit.

The Antal power (peace loving but strict) has a daily updated of how to make a solid income from supporting systems suffering outbreaks and famine, and at teh same time gathering engineering matrails to enable long distance exploration.

Anyway here's today's report

Thanks a lot for the information provided.

It's not about profit, it's about the lingering question if an upcoming state can be stopped in its shoes as for example a boom or a lockdown is quite easily stoppable.

So with a pending outbreak, will large scale input of medicines change something? What exactly causes an outbreak, maybe that's the key to finding out how to stop it?!

I didnt think it was a about profit. Sorrt hat was just a cut and paste form today's Utopian health report.

A war, civil war, or election will stop all other states.

If you pump in meds once the outbreak happens it will boost the factio from outbreak to boom.

If you just want to cancel the out break and let another state happen then pump in meds now.

Research has been carried out for a subsantial period on what causes outbreaks and proof testing is in progress. There are many ideas out there but none have been substantiated. The Sim BGS Guru's of Antal are ready to prove what it is. They may be wrong, they may be right but it will be evidenced.

You sound interesting. Pop by the Antal reddit and discord and have a look. If you'd rather not that's fine.

Some players in ths game are offering a chance to being a again in a golden land of opportunity and they do that by being helpful and easy going.

@Ben Ryder

Many thanks for all that information. I'll then try to reach boom, if the outbreak state happens go with the meds. I think FDev should at least provide basic information about this stuff - this way it somehow creates a picture of devs not knowing what their tech child is doing when they're out of office ;-)

I'll drop by @ discord eventually and tell my buddy about it - he has just mentioned he had met you weeks ago somewhere - didn't know Antal's peasants (no pun!) were so active. Thank you again!

Ah that's fine.

It would be good if we had more info about a stuff but when there are gaps it ca be kind of un working it out for ourselves.

Antal's peasants are really quiet bunch of chaps. The whole kind of commune thing doing there won stuff together while every one else is in a a bit oa a back and forth about stuff. They do pretty well so far, 700 systems where all forms of slavery is completely illegal and no slaves for sale. Its 'a nice role playing stuff. Curing famines and out breaks and providing proof and reason on the how and where for is in some ways more worthwhile than Thagroids and wars between super powers. Well maybe.

I'm probably one of the most noisy Utopians but even if quiet, Utopian peasants are active. For instance Antals Utopian's were the first power in Maia and controlled the system when Obsidian Orbital was created, long before any other but not a lot of folk know.

Anyway's I think the are always doing research in to curing the galaxy of it ills so any thing you work out woudl be really useful.

And now for something completely different

My home system went into Outbreak and I noticed I can not sell food products there. I had some Food Cartridges and the whole food section was missing. I tried the black market and was able to dump them there but they were labelled as illegal.

Anyone else experience this?

No one knows.

Also, Outbreaks in high population systems mean you can find HGEs with pharmaceutical isolators. Embrace the outbreak!

As for FDev's information, I think if it's evident in the game, the consider that as information. When you bug report something like food not being sellable or buyable during an outbreak, they'll reply working as intended, and never explain to you why until a BGS live stream or researching past patch notes. That's simply how they roll.

^^ Thanks for info. I think I'll try pumping tons of medicines and advanced medicines into the system to see if that helps. GL HF all

Im pretty sure I know but just havent had the tiem to show rthe workings etc.

If Im right triggering outbreaks is icredibly easy. Donn e a few tiral runs but never had the time t o do the whole do x =y cos of facts thing

The problem isn't that it's impossible to trigger them, but that there's no way to prove that the actions you took caused them.

Shooting Type 9s in shipping lanes drops pharmaceutical isolators, right? When you have an active outbreak, you'll find pharmaceutical isolators at High Grade Emissions signal sources, and they'll spawn next to wreckage of Type 9s.

So, basically, draw a line between those to occurrences, and you have the most likely cause of outbreaks. However, as far as I am aware, that can't really be tested and shown as proof, especially in high population systems, which have high player traffic.
