QOL: Hotkey to engage Supercruise Assist on current destination

All I'm suggesting is, its highly likely that FDev put the requests for a "SCA Key Binding" in the same category as the requests for a "Docking Request Key Binding", and they want the player to use the cockpit procedure to access them.

If this is that case, then its highly unlikely that a "SCA Key Binding" is in FDev's future plans or roadmaps.

I mean, exactly how much more of an advantage do people want the assist modules to have over manually piloting a spaceship... in a spaceship piloting game? Yes I am obliquely referencing the supercruse gameplay avoiding loophole/exploit introduced with the SCA module.

Taking up a ship slot and having to interact with the game seem like trivial downsides in the whole scheme of things.

Well, those arguments do not hold much ground now that we have Apex
Just saying 🤷‍♂️

Any chance you could say a little bit more, and explain what Apex has to do with anything in this thread?

I am of course assuming that you can't purchase a personal Apex shuttle that can autopilot you round the bubble transporting cargo/shooting other spaceships/completing missions like you were in your own ship.

Wow, no point in playing. Simple key press to have ship fly self. Omg.
Come on fly the ship
I don't think that digging through the nav panel list to engage a feature that is provided by FDev has anything to do with flying... I mean you are literally flying blind while you are doing this action, sometimes for 20-40 seconds, ticking through a seemingly endless list to find your target again.

Am I missing something here?

uww I have a question may sounds like strange but...
why FDev Administrators/Moderators are "intentionally" avoiding answer this single asking for years? I'm pretty sure that is done via intention.
so I guess... that is Thargoids are in their office and forcing to not to ans[SIGNAL CORRUPTED]

I think you raise a fair point, this request surfaces waaaay to often and for a good reason, I believe.

So is there a way to extract a reaction on this request from an FDev moderator? (not the voluntary moderators, sorry but you are 'free help' only, not the company line... ;))
Anybody with an idea? 😅

what i think :
Fdev already spent a certain amount of time to change the UI (nav computer in the left panel),
if they give us a key binding, no one will use this UI and the time spent will be wasted (from fdev point of view)

That is absurd. People will still use it for the actual reasons to use it (locating new stations / going to signal sources). Forcing people to go in and select the station that they already selected once (via galaxy map bookmark) is just needless makework, which is made considerably more tedious by the huge numbers of fleet carriers and surface installations that have been added. (Tbh, Supercruise assist is fairly useless when going to surface installations anyway, so i just leave those filtered 90% of the time.. but the carriers are an issue, since i have one and need to be able to see it)

Following up on this: is there a real reason why FDev is simply not implementing such a keyboard shortcut for engaging SC on an active target? I am desperately looking for a positive (possibly gameplay driven) reason that would explain why this is not done, because otherwise I am left with things like being lazy, they know better, being incompetent, this is another pure evil way to make us suffer or, even worse, just simply not giving a damn about the players... :cautious:
