QoL Request: Free Type Text (notes) on ships, modules, friends

Last raised back in 2016, and now trying again - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...-Type-Text-on-ships-modules-friends?p=5155631

I've asked for this a couple of times... But here we go again.

It would be useful to have some free type text in a good number of areas in ED just to help us organise our thoughts...

Against ships: What's the current state of play with ship X? What's it for? Is it my exploration ship? Have I swapped out a module to use it for something else and want to remind myself?

Against modules: (Stored or in ship) Which of these X similar modules has what crafting? What's it aimed at, exploration? Piracy? A single sentence would help me pick it out. Be nice to see these easily on the list of stored modules for example. ie: Which is the one I modified in so-and-so way? <-- Actually being able to keep track of modules more easily with your notes shown along side them as you select them would be so useful!

Against friends: Who is CMDR X? Oh yes, he's the one who helped me out with Y. Good chap! Now I remember!

Against CMDRs: Allow notes against a CMDR. For example on the contact pane you can view any notes you have on a CMDR, and have an option to "Amend" them. So if you see a CMDR on your scanner/contacts you can see if you've got notes on them (eg: "Helped me with X", or "Shot me for no reason!")

Against elsewhere? eg: Planets/stations etc? Bookmarks?

ps: I'm sure this could all be held client side, and therefore could be used/maintained by third party apps too?

Think about it... For one second...

eg: You have three engineered Pulse Lasers in storage, four shield generators, three Power Distributors etc. Now quickly and efficiently work out what each is aimed at/for etc. For example is it aimed at exploration, piracy etc etc... A single note displayed along side it could tell you this immediately. Is one still an engineering work in progress etc? Again a small note would tell you.

I suggested this a year or two ago, because as a VR player, it is not very suitable to remove the headset each and every time you want to write or read a note... So yes please, a plain text field to enter stuff and a rudimentary file browser would do perfectly.

+1 OP.

Yes, didn't even contemplate VR folks! Ultimately keeping notes about game features, in the game, against the features/things in question just makes sense.

Yesterday I was looking through my stored modules, and modules in ships, and God a line of (my) notes displayed against each would be so useful!
