MagmaiKH/Quazil, I can't thank you enough. Your tool is great, even if rough on the edges. Major kudos!

(I made 7mio trading in 3.5h today thanks to you.)

If you can, please add the info if a station has large pads or only small/medium. Also, for me it only starts when running "AstroAnalytics.UX.exe" - I'd have expected that "AstroAnalytics.exe" would be it, but that stalls. Still, awesome work!

Does any part of the program run or do you get an error outright and nothing starts? (No star-field update/downloader)

If nothing runs then you might need to install .NET 4.0 (but I think that comes with Windows 8.1 so that's a long shot). I have a link in the OP.

If something does run see if any errors are recorded in AstroAnalytics.log.

I was also having the error with Windows 8.1 where it would crash related to the .Net message. I believe it is windows smartscreen not allowing some of the applications to run. What I did to fix it was run each of the 3 applications (AstroAnalytics.UX, AstroAnalytics.EDDN.Logger and AstroAnalytics in that order), seperately and allow them to bypass smartscreen. Now I can run the main application with no issues.

Just started using this looks to be very good, I have found a high paying Route, my highest to date.
Have to love that, I need to look it over a bit more can only play for 1/2 hour tonight.

I followed the advice from RAAMAH, running the other executables 1st and that seems to be working as the program is now downloading stuff.
Looking forward to trying it out later.

Was streaming and learning how to make this tool really hum along with viewers tonight. Went from idiot-who-can't-make-it-work to using it to its full potential in about an hour.

Summarizing what we found in the current version below:

  • Even though there are dropdowns for end system and commodity in the route search pane, you can leave them blank to search for any system and all commodities (may have already been mentioned in this thread, and may be obvious to some people, but wasn't to me -- I see a dropdown and just want to fill it in!)
  • The 'Radius Range (ly)' input finds routes whose start points are within the given distance of your point of origin. ALL routes from the stations in that range seem to be potential results -- even if the individual route distances (shown in results in the first column) are very very large (~200 ly).
  • Since you can only sort by one column at a time, it's difficult to evaluate a route both on jump distance of the route and another metric (e.g. total profit). To make this easier, set your 'Cargo Tonnage' to 1 -- that way, the 'Total Profit' column will be the round-trip profit/ton metric that most of us are used to using to evaluate a route.
  • The columns in the results can be resized, if you're using a display narrower than 1080p, to show all of the information you're interested in (since jump range is the very first column and total profit the very last). Just don't shrink them all the way, you won't be able to grab them again to make them wider if you need to see that data again!

Everyone is super impressed with this tool, keep up the great work! Glad to have a full solution (not sure if there's others out there; this is the first I've found) using EDDN as a source -- feels good hitting that 'export to EDDN' button in OCR and knowing people will be able to benefit from it.

Ran a full all<->all search in "Beast Multicore" for fun (incl. return trip, 20ly radius, restrict source, exceeding 4k/t).
3.345.603.813 trades found, 6:15.7min. Never over 10% CPU load. Beast? :)

Back to topic, as Caiburn mentioned, information about pad sizes would be great, but that probably need a coordinated effort with the EDDN & EliteOCR guys. Oh, and ofc allegiance, since, following some... unfortunate misunderstandings, everyone in Fed space would like to see my head on a lance. As I hear I'm not the only one with that problem, so later on such a filter would come in handy. I'd certainly take the time to add that info each time I use EliteOCR.

SOLVED: Hey Quazil and company. I have heard great things about the tool from Joodicator so thought I would install it. However when I try and install it I get a microsoft.net framework unhandled exception that the object reference is not set to an instance of an object. I have pasted the details at http://pastebin.com/thg67imt I have version 4.5 of .net installed so I am not sure where I am going wrong.

Another great power-user tip for folks who wish the tool had better sorting/filtering capabilities on results -- will take some time to get all of that into the tool itself, but the 'Export to Excel' button in the top left copies a tab-delimited version of the results to your clipboard. You can easily paste this into Excel/OpenOffice Calc and do all the filtering and sorting you want!

SOLVED: After re-reading the OP I noticed that it was mentioned to restart the program.

I added a couple of stations via EliteOCR to EDDN and to my surprise they showed up almost instantly in QAA log. However the data does not seem to be updated in the trading tab. Suggestions?

The same thing happened to me. In the logs it showed that I uploaded data to EDDN, but it didn't show up in the trading tab until I restarted QAA.

Nice, simple, easy to filter (if sort by target system, seems to also keep it in Max Profit -> low profit too), more data in it than another and more stable than another.

The same here... but a small other issue

Yesterday everything was working well accept the uploaded data (EDDN) sync to the QAA.
Today the prog will not start. They abort directly after checking for updates without any messages. After i moved back to my location of QAA i saw a update folder witch was generated. I am not sure if it was yesterday as well.
In this folder i found all the files of QAA. Tried to click in the update folder .exe and they created a folder update again. Maybe something went wrong.
A "new" installation was not helpful...

Here are the screen.

The update folder and copy is created by the update process.

The update program can't replace itself or the assemblies it is using while it is running (because Windows).

So I have it make a copy of all the executables and re-run the updater from there (the update detects that it is in the update folder and then proceeds with the update.)

Upon a successful relaunch of the GUI it will remove the update folder.
