Quest 2 settings and performamce help

Hi guys soo I have a quest 2, using a 5700xt with it, elite is installed on a nvme drive.

Pre odyssey performance was pretty good. Post odyssey it has been worse, biggest problem I have is when I am core mining in an asteroid field (one of the places I most want to use vr!) I was hoping maybe someone here has a similar set up and has thoughts as to how to increase frame rates and prevent any stuttering in asteroid fields. When I turn too fast (even slow sometimes) the game definitely struggles!

I am plugged in as well not trying to do wireless.

Did you sort out your issues? The 5700xt should be more or less comparable to my old 1080, I'm considering getting Odyssey and a Quest 2 to replace my trusty CV1 but that's assuming the framerate drop isn't too terrible.

Soo the 5700 is more akin to the 2080.

I have figured it out there's certain settings to turn down I found a guy who had suggestions and have figured a few things out myself. Check out Ed profiler you can saves settings one for vr and one for none vr (for this brave new world of no vr for on foot).

Ive just bought Quest 2, no idea what i am doing, approaching a ship it looks like a lego brick ship! Think i have a long weekend ahead trying to figure whats going on!

If you’re using AirLink, look to the bitrate settings in the Oculus menu - you might be getting a low output from your router.

If you’re using a Link cable, there are options in the Oculus Devices menus to allow you to alter the refresh rate and resolution of the headset.

First off though, I’d look at Elite’s graphics options to see if AMD FSR is running (if you’re in Odyssey) because I needed to tweak that right up to get nice visuals along with HMD Quality 1.25 - or if you’re in Horizons just be aware that using some of the VR presets can increase SuperSampling to crippling levels 😁
