Question about Odyssey Megaship Interior (Update 8)

Personally I doubt it. So far we have been shown a variation on the station con courses, I wouldn’t expect any more than that.
I doubt it (too, ninja'd). There are several classes of megaships, only some have docking facilities and generation ships as far as I know aren't one of them. Maybe in future though, who knows. It's a nice idea.

In a future DLC they would be an excellent candidate for EVA exploration, that’s for sure.not a chance ... first they aren't dockable ...

The concourses are for the type of megaships that already have landing pads.
I believe they're called Flight Operations-type megaships.
Generation ships, bulk haulers, dregers, etc. don't have landing pads, and would require considerable redesigns to accommodate them.
The idea of things like generation ships and dredgers having standardised concourses occupied by galaxy-wide service companies doesn't really fit with their backstory, and anything else (like exploring abandoned generation ships, communing with uncontacted dredger tribes...) would be a whole new layer of exploration, assets, environments, and game mechanics that they're just not gonna plop into a random update of fixes, polish, and small additions.
Ergo, it's just the ones with landing pads.

For EVA exploration it will be nice indeed. I just hope we will have a clue for the signal source of Thetis death message in a future update.
I think clues for Thetis are probably more imminent than EVA into generation ships ..
Nothing in EDO stops EVA from becoming a thing in future though.
Maybe Frontier will steal the procgen abandoned frieghters from NMS as an idea for their own future content...
Haven’t seen those, but yeah, a fully hand crafted generation ship would literally be a huge undertaking
They are one of the better additions, in my opinion, different enough to be interesting, but not so common as to get tiresome.

I mean, we can only guess what FDev do have planned but it seems likely that they're just talking about the landable megaships that we see dotted around; such as the Gnosis.
On that note, it'd be nice if the Gnosis got a slightly unique interior, reflecting it's unique status within ED.
Maybe all the crew could be wearing lab-coats or something?
They don't have hyperspace capability so their design both internal and external will be determined by the propulsion systems available at the time of manufacture. So maybe similar, maybe not, but internally hugely different as they had to carry fuel and food for...as the name implies, generations.

You owe it to yourself to go check them out, they are definitely one of the best things about ED. They each have a unique backstory and it’s nicely fleshed out with audio logs. Some of them are quite creepy.

Just megaships you can dock at and use services like a station.
Because it's just a station interior re skin.
Don't need a docking pad when you have a crash docking system, or you can EVA over and cut through any number of panels.
But yes.... FD take their time making actual new stuff. They did the settlements, that's our lot for now. (Though if they just re used most of the settlement interiors for up to date megaships you can board, that'd be something)
