I can understand that! I find Gutamaya ship nice externally, but internally are icebergs.
Heh, I liked the red cockpit too, at first; it's my favorite color etc. However, after 9 months out in the black, I really, really wanted another color to look at lol. Since I've been back in the bubble, you know, doing bubble stuff, every ship I've flown sure as hell isn't red! Haha. Oh well, maybe we'll have control over such things in the future. (But I"m not holding my breath.)
Phantom has way better heat management than AspX too
Of course the Phantom is better than the AspX, for starters it has a far better name. Half the players think the Asp is an abbreviation for something else (it isn't) or that it should be typed all in upper case for some reason. Then they can't decide on whether it should be called AspE or AspX - poor ship is having an identity conflict!

Same here. I currently fly my pirate spec Phantom with the Vibrant Red paintjob, and all of a sudden the red interior makes perfect sense.
The Phantom is a wonderful ship, let down by the horse blinder wing extensions. If all you do is look straight ahead, up, down and directly to the sides you'll have no problems. Need to look up to either side, say when rolling into a turn and looking up over your shoulder to see what's in your way, sorry not happening.

Trust me with careful engineering there is little in the jump ranges. I have had a Phantom pushing 70ly jump. In full trim 65ly is easily possible. With lighter engineering 60ly should be simples. Its a great explorer sir and I have covered over 200,000ly in one and have no complaints at all. I have always loved my Asp but (in my opinion of course) the Phantom is even better at it.
I don't like the fact that both Krait varients block a large amount of view area with the wings, ASP or DBE far better for seeing what your exploring.

I adore my exploration Phantom. It’s got great range, a delightful flight model, pretty to look at from the SRV, oodles of internal space (more than I know what to do with, in fact), and most importantly, it’s a much, MUCH nicer place to sit in VR than the sterile, dreary Asp X cockpit.
The ship is great and the cockpit is also well done. I just don't like red color for the interiors... anywhere
And the engines look like the millennium falcon
