Question about the strange names of the pirates.

Are there any pirate names in the game such as Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepard, Helen Patricia Sharman or Claudie André-Deshays, etc.? Have any of the players seen such names in the game at the pirates? Can such names be simply generated? After all, they can only be made in the game specifically programmed so, are not they?

As part of the Kickstarter we could 'name an NPC' and the individual first and last names would be pooled together to form other names. So there is an NPC called Helen Lister (my name) which has been seen and often killed many times. There will probably also some called Helen [something] and [something] Lister. ;)

Some people could have submitted names such as Neil Armstrong etc too, which would also go into the pool.

Found a relative. Space related fellow too.

You're not going to argue with me about how unpleasant it is to kill a pirate named Mother Teresa, Giordano Bruno, Albert Einstein?

Not sure if he was a pirate because it was an anarchy system, but he could have been up to no good ;) The names will be picked randomly, there's no discrimination.

I've found plenty of wanted people, who you might not expect to be wanted.

Out of interest why do you only care about Astronauts and whether they're pirates or not?

I think the question of whether the pool of names is further categorised by NPC type or just random is a good one to ask. I realised as soon as I read it that I don't know the answer ;)

Why do I have to shoot a pirate in the game, which bears the name of the world's first female astronaut – Valentina Tereshkova?
You don't.

p.s don't forget this is a game. If you can make distinctions between the sort of people who you will accept shooting and those you don't want to, then you must have already decided your level of rp in the game. You either stick to that, or ignore it.

When I bought the game, no one informed me that I would shoot pirates bearing the names of famous people.

Those are not names, but callsigns. Some pirate chose to name himself Neil Armstrong, while the other is Winnie The Pooh, Buddha, Monkeyboy or Dark Messiah.

You can throw a tantrum about "having to shoot" pirates accidentally named after famous people, or just be happy than there's some kind of tribute to Valentina Tereshkova in the game.

Cosmonaut, not astronaut, technically.

Also, for the record, I’ve had the privilege of meeting a couple of astronauts. They’re a pretty chill bunch. I highly doubt they’d mind sharing their names with some NPCs on a space game.
