PvP Question for PvP'ers

If PvP is all about more risk creating a better sense of reward, why don't the PvP community go semi or even full ironman? By semi ironman I mean to NOT rebuy the ship if defeated and full ironman meaning reset the save on ship destruction? It would not only add more risk to a match thus creating more excitement, but it would also add a new dimension to gameplay, where is the sweetspot in terms of how much work you are willing to put into your CMDR and the ship before going out scrapping in it against how much effort you are willing to put on the line...

For example, if flying an engineered G5 FGS, if you die in semi ironman mode you lose the ship and all the g5 engineering, if you were in full ironman mode you also lose the rank to buy the gunship as well as the access to the engineers...

1) That doesn't correlate to better reward anywhere

2) PvPers=/=only proponents of challenge. There have been plenty of PvE players, whether they also PvP or not, that agree more challenge is needed.

3) Challenge=/=killing the enemies just as easily until the day you accidentally clip a ship outside a station, blow it up, and get ganked by station guns, resulting in resetting your game.

ROFL!
Yeah, I'm gonna spend 5-6 hours grinding and nearly 100 million cr just to lose it in 15 mins. Sounds like a great idea.

No, what this game actually needs is some form of in-game matchmaking that has no rebuy cost at all.

In order to make the game more challenging for me I managed to acquire an old chest freezer from a meat packing business. If I lose a ship I open the freezer, gather my crown jewels in my hand and lay them on the lip of the freezer before SLAMMING the lid down on them with all my furious might.

I find this increases the "Risk vs. Reward" for whatever play-style I'm engaging in without the inconvenience of a reset.

I'm sorry to hear that. At least you have the risk part sorted out. What happens when you win the fight? Allow yourself a drink of sea water to quench your thirst?

This is a joke right? I mean, you say some pretty silly things but I can't believe you're actually serious.

Also, what part of "in-game matchmaking" don't you understand?
Well wasn't that what CQC was meant for? I mean...what else can I say?

The thing about this whole "risk vs. reward" thing is a one-sided argument. As a victim, I seem to be risking everything. I risk a rebuy, risk losing mission progress or cargo and reputation for the loss and failure. Meanwhile as the attacker, I lose nothing if I fail my attempt other than a rebuy. But if it's a rebuy, it can't affect me as an attacker as life/death is not the goal for me, it's destruction.
