[Question] Ship thruster efficiency - Cobra 3 seems rather weak compared to Asp S?

I have been playing FA off a lot and I really get to know a ships directional thrusters.

I have been burning about a lot on planets in a Cobra 3, and was quite surprised that the thrusters, particularly the up one seems noticeably weaker than the Asp S. Both are Class 4 A rated. I thought the Cobra would be more efficient because it is a lighter ship. Admittedly I have military hull on the cobra but standard hull on the Asp but that shouldn't make that much difference should it?

What ship has the best vertical thrusters and how can I find this out?

Thanks!

Compare their respective masses using something like http://coriolis.io

this thread tests acceleration: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=159475 - ad this tests thruster grade: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=164931

i don't think that vertical thruster acceleration/speed has been tested - feel free! it can be done now having an altimeter.

from thread: best acceleration/decceleration: the imperial courier. from experience: best vertical thrusters: the imperial courier.

best ship for planetary landing, just misses some jumprange for a deep space explorer: the imperial courier.

___

edit: i forgot about the eagle. i have outfitted one for prospecting material - it's in parts even better than the courier. but it doesn't have enough internals.
