I have collected Unknown Fragments, and I have let myself in unoccupied facilities, and even made them display a star map.
I've never seen or bothered a barnacle.
I've never seen or bothered a dead Thargoid ship.
I've never seen or bothered or been bothered by a live one.

And I'm not complaining.
If they have something of value to offer and need something transported from one place to another, my cargo bay is open.
Otherwise, if they leave me be, I'm content to leave them be.
Humans are problem enough.
