Questions for experienced Salvagers.

You can always make them "view only" for those having the link.
And yep, interesting question about the effect of salvage (oh, at least one was pretty known earlier - TS effect on station).
However I suppose that only the carefully supervised ecosystem as it's the case with Colonia and commander @Ian Doncaster projects can help in clarifying that kind of impact (if any).
Colonia is a very bad place for that sort of controlled test, because the background traffic is far too high - I have extensive data but it's much better for observational studies than quantitative ones. Isolating the effects of salvage would be incredibly tricky - one of the dead quiet tiny population systems on the edge of the bubble would be better.

I would expect "sell as high profit trade good" for +inf and +econ but maybe some of them are more interesting.

Various salvage/hijack missions have different effects based on the goods, so maybe there's parity there too?

Yes - although "donate beer", "fetch beer", "deliver beer" missions and "bulk trade beer" don't have consistent effects on the faction being given the beer, so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't completely consistent.

Let me know if you guys want to change anything or add anything, and then tell me who to set that up :)
Nice work 👍.
Just a question: i can see in the USS testing that you found small and large data cache surveys in what i suppose to be anarchy systems with no human activity. Can you find them while being in the bubble or you need to travel? I'm looking for them since weeeeeks :cry: . The only time i found them recently, i didn't had cargo so i raged quit the game :ROFLMAO:
Another thing: in the tab "Perm Surface Site", "Jamesons Cobra system is HIP 12099, planet 1b ;)

I found them in one of the systems near the LP of the ghost ship Event.
I think its any system without a human civilisation and the double icons.
Though I haven't tested in the bubble.
Thanks for the Jamesons info :) Im quite lazy, fixed it now.

Sorry for the dumb question: what means LP? :LOL:
I was randomly travelling recently and i found nothing in inhabited systems with icy worlds (M/L/Tauri star class). Or i'm very unlucky...

Also for Adel, I found Small Survey Data in a Deg Threat 0 with Lockdown as the state on the USS, in a system that was in the Blight state.

Edit : LP means Listening Post, so I was Outside the bubble basically. It was 370ly outside the bubble towards Barnards Loop.
But I think it just needs to be a Not inhabited system and the USS needs two Icons !

some additional info - WISE 2056+1459 - known Tip Off site (persistent, will be activated on 14/01/2021)
and this one it the real gem for me - Col 285 Sector ZT-I b25-0 - that's evidently some other Tip Off related site, but this one is unknown to me. As there are no many Tip Off-related locations left undiscovered (supposedly about 30+) the new ones became really rare. As you mentioned "planet Dave" I can figure out the group of log it generate - also relatively rare one. Do you have any records/dates when you've seen iit "in situ" for the last time (to calculate it's timing with +/-1 tick precision)?
The conda in Leucos have the layout CS_AN_01_L in my classification, you can find permanent sites with the similar (=exactly same) layout in :
Sol_{body:Charon}{type:CS}{var:CS_AN_01_L}
Ithaca_{body:Huari}{type:CS}{var:CS_AN_01_L}
Belu_{body:B 1}{type:}{var:CS_AN_01_L}
Morrina_{body:2}{type:CS}{var:CS_AN_01_L}
Tsongoris_{body:9 a}{type:}{var:CS_AN_01_L}
Tsongoris_{body:2}{type:}{var:CS_AN_01_L}{coords:[-3.45,176.4]}
I haven't finished prospecting so there may be other already known sites with the same layout
+ 4-6 tip off locations with the same layout that I know about.

Also, during the last year I've visited quite a number of USS's - just in order to find correspondence between crashed ship fragments one can find on the surface with those in space - and can admit that sometimes there are quite a bunch of things to salvage. Finding the rules of their generation/appearance is really a good idea! o7

I am sorry, I dont understand what you want me to do.
Nor do I understand the Sol_{body:Charon}{type:CS}{var:CS_AN_01_L} stuff. Is that ripped info from the Journals ?
If so thanks for that info. Though I find it annoying when I arrive and the tip off isn't active :)

Hmm, Planet dave is an abandoned planetary settlement. My mistake leaving it in the Salvage sheet. Sorry about that.
It has no salvage but a great set of logs that tell a nice story.

When you say WISE 2056+1459 will be active on 14/01/2021 ? I find that strange as the ship was there when I went a week or so ago.
Unless its another Crashed ship your talking about ?

EDIT : {REDACTED}

Ok that EDIT is wrong, :) I figured out how to search the history on my sheets.
So the crashed ship that disapeared was on Haisienet A3a - POI Crashed Ship - Sidewinder - 2x canisters - Data Core.
Hope that helps.

LOL I forgot this one, Our home system HR 6565 has a perm crashed type 9 on planet 2, no salvage though. High Grav 2.something

Sorry, no, tha's not the info from journals - that is a rip from one of my spreadsheets, autogenerated reference to crashsite-like POI's. And in mentioned case it means that there is a crash site (CS) in Sol on Charon, the layout of the crash site have the code-type assigned (by me) CS_AN_01_L. Not entering into the details it's just the same as in Leucos.

my bad - yes, in fact, it's a known settlement and I've checked the wrong list. Interesting, that there is a Tip Off log that mentioned the same place. I suppose that some of the selected Tip Off texts (the best ones) has been "reused" by FD in the design of the abandoned settlements.

No, that is exactly the same - Tip Off related - site, and there is nothing strange that you've seen it recently - it was in fact active only a week ago=).

OMG YES !!

btw, you can always distinguish a Tip Off related crash site from any others by:
1) it does contain exactly 1 message log (no less, no more)
2) it is visible as "Other" type of signal by FSS

Data Core or Unstable Data Core?
If it's Data Core, you just gave us a way to get them without crying (like me :p) about the fact that only military installations have them. And for the moment megaships/installations hacking is broken since....almost a year with an update that had nothing to do with it 🤦‍♂️ .
So it will be a great news!

It wasnt an unstable data core thats for sure, It was something you scan and it gave me a credit reward for scanning it, I think.

Ahh I see what you mean, NO its not the Salvage called Data Core !
