Questions regarding the purchase of in-game items

Hello Commanders!

I've purchased a number of things in the Store, probably enough to have purchased 4-5 more copies of the game at full price. How to do so isn't the focus of my current problem, but rather, time.

So, I've purchased many things for many ships - not enough to have everything, but enough to have reached a point where I no longer 100% remember what I do, and don't have.

So, is there someplace in the Store interface that tells me what I have already purchased?

Does the purchasing system realize that I have already purchased an item, and let me know? I would hope that it doesn't just take your money again, but I have yet to see such an indication. I already have the Python Ship Kit, and it allows me to put it in the cart again without any kind of warning or indication, and I don't want to go any farther in the process to see if the warning happens to be placed deeper than it should be. Honestly, there should be something on the item itself that says indicates whether or not you have already purchased it.

I suppose I could have kept my own log, and perhaps I will go through all of my ships and do just that, but if there is a way to see this information while I am logged into the store, I would be appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Riôt

In the section "My Orders", I know you can see stuff you bought there, I'm 100% sure about ingame items tho... worth checking I guess :p

And yeah, like said above, it should tell you what you own.

When I enter the store from in the game, or log into the store with my game account info, items I have already purchased are clearly identified.

Hum, starnge, are you sure you logged ?
In theory, you should get something like this :

(notice the "owned" band on the Vult shipkit)

My screen doesn't look like that at all. It also used to say Welcome (Me), but the (Me) has been blank for quite some time. The picture pop-outs also stopped working a long time ago.

I get to it straight from the right-hand side of the launcher (which comes up after I click Play in Steam), rather than going directly to the Frontier Store.

Maybe this is the issue? I don't know, and I can't post any screens, but like I said, mine looks quite different, and has no indication that I have purchased anything.

Edit to add: I always get what I purchase without significant issues or delays.

I have backed ED since Kickstarter (very late), and when ED launched and had a Steam version I got the keys for Steam and used Steam version - only because Steam lets me download patches and other stuff much much much faster than I could from FD's servers (500 mbps on Steam vs 20 to 50 mbps via FD's servers).

The downside (for me) is that every time I forget and clicked "buy game extras" in the game, it launches Steam's store, which I immediately close. I always buy paintjobs and other stuff from FD's store direct, never via Steam's interface.

Steam's current browser (latest version of Steam) is just screwed up - parts of web pages don't load (for me), other parts don't display (black rectangle portions inside the web pages). MAYBE your problem may be due to this?

Why not just go directly to FD's store outside of Steam via a regular browser, and try to log in to see if you're getting the same issues as you did via Steam's browser? As Voubi said above, items you've owned should show a banner "OWNED" across the top right corner.

Logging into the Store directly, I do have the Owned banners.

I don't want to buy stuff that way though, but at least I can look at it while making purchases in the future.

Maybe I'm just old, but I try to limit how many different places I enter any of my financial information.

Thanks everyone,

Riôt

I understand your reasons, of course. I just wanted to comment that thus it appears to be a steam browser issue for your case, just so you know. Up to you to decide how to proceed from here :D
