Questions

Two questions I can't figure out:

1. How can I raise guest energy levels?

2. What is the security camera for?

If anyone can explain it would be much appreciated!!!

1. You can raise energy levels by placing benches (I'm not sure things like coffee help like it does in Planet Coaster?).
2. To catch pickpockets and vandals in the act so that they can be dealt with (by security guards).

Guest energy should be affected by
1) food
2) drinks
3) benches/places to rest
(thats just a guess out of the 70+ hours experience i have, no clue if its true)

The security cameras helps out in reducing the amount of vandalism and crime that those smelly visitors are causing.
I replace a street lantern here and there with one of the standing cams.

Do rides affect guest energy too? I mean the boat, train, etc.

I am too technical handicapped to get those things ever done i am afraid.
Won't happen on my first crappy trial-and-error-zoo at least.
I wasted 2 hours with a desperate try this morning and then gave it up before i went rampage.

You can raise energy levels by providing places for people to eat (like a food court area) and benches placed around the park.
Different kinds of food and drink effect energy levels. When you go into a food stall (let's say for example the Hamburger one) you can pick and choose which condioments and extras are included on each burger type. If you hover over "ketchup" or "pickles" and the like, the game will tell you what each one does. Maybe pickles adds to energy, but makes the person thirstier.
The security cameras are there to help catch vandals, pick pockets and other bad actors.

I never read that stuff, i just randomly picked something when setting them up... considering how well my zoo runs, this game is as complex as it is forgiving it seems^^.

I'm so glad you posted this about the different affects of different foods and drinks, I had no idea! The depth of this game is just incredible!

I also had no idea I could choose condiments...

... so do the security cameras work alone or does my security guard just get a "heads up" and need to go stop the vandals. I have only one security guard who always says he has a low workload yet vandalism happens constantly.

I echo your confusion when it comes to the security guard and the cameras in Planet Zoo. It would appear as if the shell of the idea was copied over from Planet Coaster. In PC, you had to assign guards and cameras to help combat thefts and vandals and you would get a notice when destruction and a theft occurred and it would say "your guards have been alerted" or something along those lines. My game is bugged and I havent been able to play since Tuesday, but from what I remember in Beta and on Tuesday no such notice appeared.
Which leads me to believe that either 1. they disabled the notifications to help reduce spam and the guards are ejecting people and we don't get notified 2. no ejecting or pickpocketing is occurring which makes me wonder why even have security guards and/or 3. another bugged system implemented into the game.

I think they are doing something because when I click on my security guard it says he caught 2 pickpockets and 1 thief last year, but still my guests are complaining of being pickpocketted and stuff is destroyed everywhere and yet it always says my security guard has a low workload? I plopped cameras EVERYWHERE now and still it seems the same?

Regarding the Security, make sure to assign work zones to your guards, I found that they wander really far sometimes and are not near enough to catch the criminals.

You have to assign workzones for your guards the cameras arent enough
