Newcomer / Intro Quick question about the game modes...

I looked in the manual, but didn't find an answer to this....

Is it possible to switch back and forth between the different game modes? So, if someone starts in Solo, can they then go Open (and vice versa)?

A friend of mine wants to start playing, but they want to play Group mode...can I join them (I play Open), or will I have to start from the beginning? I am afraid to try it in game because I don't want to risk losing my save.

It's all one game, one save, no matter which mode you play in. If you start in solo and then switch to group or open, you will be in the same location with the same credits, ships, reputation, etc. The only difference in the modes is the online factor. You can switch freely between all three at any time and it won't affect your progress.

The only difference the game modes make is how many players you can interact with.

Solo- only you, no one else
Private group- as many as are in the group
Open, every player that has the game, and is on the open game channel, i think there`s a limit to 64 players per instance.
