Seek refund total 4.53%
Upgrade total 12.3%
Do nothing total 27.83%

Seek Refund
Seek refund is below 5%, the generally accepted threshold for a very meaningful statistic. Over twice more beta say seek refund than alpha, it indicates more positive bias by betas then alphas on seeking refund.

Upgrade
More alphas say upgrade than betas, this somewhat indicates that alphas feel the upgrade is worth it. By itself the beta 'should upgrade' votes are below 5%, so again by itself not a very meaningful statistic. But we can say there is a small negative bias to upgrading by betas.

Do nothing
Status quo 27.83%, probably the most meaningful vote, common sense.

I do care mate, and I am not particularly delighted with recent announcements concerning 'alphas beta' and 'go compare' like insurance deals as many in that other thread will testify!

However, I've said it before and I will say it again, this is no 'game breaker' for me, I am still going to test, play and support this game. I almost said, 'no matter what' at the end of that, glad I didn't because too much of the 'them and us' treatment or too much 'show us your credit/debit card' will get very old, very quickly.

Annoyed. But FD won't care unless a lot of people demand money back, just 1 or 2 refunds won't make a difference because FD don't care about how customers feel, only what they spend in enabling DB's dream.

I emailed FD earlier about options for downgrading/ getting a refund from Founder level.

If I'm not in 1st beta as per pledge, then I fail to see why I should pay for it.

Refund? Meh. Not worth it.
But I won´t get the expansion pass before I have seen a basic demo, running on *my* PC, not some youtube video made by the alpha VIPs, laughing, getting more perks while I look at my missed delivery date.

I like the perk they're offering alpha testers tbh, it's a nice thank-you gesture. Though, for the old die hard elite players I think many will be playing ironman mode anyway which cancels it out, pretty much. As for beta, well I think there have been bumps with the mp code that needs ironed out before they open the flood gates to even more players.

I would've thought more would've been more annoyed at the various ship type starts than a mere cash reduction upon your destruction, or is it just a case of jealousy at alpha getting more than beta?

I still want the game to succeed, especially as it's shaping up amazing well, so that's a big 'no' from me. To be honest, there's not really anything they could do to make me ask for my money back.

Generally, couldn't give a toss about the alpha perk issue. If it bothers you so much just get your refund and shut up about it, this echo chamber of whining is getting pretty tedious now (it's always the same people!).

Op, yes I am irked about the insurance thing, as I was hoping that insurance (however implemented) would be expensive enough to make commanders think carefully about combat. Now either:

(1) It's not expensive, in which case there's not much disincentive to reckless entanglements; or
(2) It is expensive, in which case the fact that it's much less expensive for Alphas means that their maximum potential penalty for attacking you (ignoring bounties) is so much less.

But despite being disappointed for what it means for the game, I'm not going to throw-my-toys-out-of-the-pram. That seems sort of silly to me.

For what it's worth, I couldn't care less about the early-access-to beta thing.

Not jealousy, upgrading is an option. Anger is a better characterisation.
