Quite a bit of complaining so here is one that isn't FDev

Just to restore the appropriate level of salt; wait 'til you start noticing all the chunks of ore that end-up stuck inside asteroid chunks, thus making them impossible to collect.

I was just talking to someone about that and it comes down to setting the charges for the appropriate depth for the right Fischer to get them to extract correctly- using the contacts for your prospector.
Going to try that next time.

Nope, it's a bug.

The 'roid chunks rotate slowly and that allows them to clip over the top of ore fragments.

The last update modified the way the abrasion blaster causes fragments to scatter in a bid to minimise the issue but it doesn't always work and it doesn't do anything to prevent ore fragments that're released by the initial explosion from ending up inside the 'roid chunks.

Mining IS still fun, mind you.
It's just that, being FDev, there's got to be something about it that's halfassed.

The explosion is brilliant. I want ships to make that same explosions, with the shockwave and sensor disruption.

I love it!
Mining went from the most boring possible activity, to one of the best literally over night.
And it pays very well.

Perfect!

As for chunks getting stuck, the sometimes do eventually pop out the other side, an I use my Anacondas nose to dig them out as flick them away . Lol

Something positive from me for a change. I have to say i like mining now. Barring the occasional chunk that gets stuck, not noticed these inside but on the surface of larger chunks, i think mining is awesome. Love the special effects and the whole way things are done with mining now. Actually a task i enjoy for once. And yes, i blew myself up the first time i tried it lol

The shockwave coming out in a flat plane is really poorly done. It would propagate in all directions. If they can't even get that right what hope is there for the rest of the game.

None at all...

I suggest those who find it so poor stop playing immediately, thus having no requirement to post, don't you agree?

I don't play, there are many better video games to devote my spare time to. But I have every right to post here, regardless.

No idea about the physics of it but those "flat-plane explosions" have always been a sci-fi trope, to denote an especially big boom.
The Death Star and the Nostromo both went boom like that, so that's good enough for me. (y)

Come on all. Play nice - we're all here because of the same interests, no need to throw muck at each other :)

Back to the original OP - totally agree - they did a great job with mining.
I genuinely thought I would never say the words "I actual enjoy mining" but it happened the other day. I hope when space legs arrives it links into and improves all the existing tasks. Maybe they will come up with some way that mining by EVA could be fun.
