Ram Tah Mats - locations ?

Have been reading about the newly required mats for the Ram Tah upgrades.
Not sure I'll get the Core Chips with my current ships and ability.

But I still want to try and get the Hardened Surface Fragments.

I know they are available and where to find them in live titans eek: Brown Alert.... ) but can you get them from dead titans ? Been in Taranis and Leigong and not sure how to find them.

Was under the impression it would protect Guardian weapons in the Thargoid environments. Is that not the case ?

That's exactly the case, but some have already decided that it's useless as it reduces the damage by 20%.

Yes, this mod only works for the basic guardian weapons. So in which cases do you need the effect? The basic weapons are outclassed by the sirius/azimuth versions.

And for bombing the core the missiles still do a better job. One niche use for shielded shards is gibbing Oreos spawning from dying titans for raw money, as it seems.

But if you are that far into the game. I doubt you really need credits

They seem to attract enough to the spires for the creds.
Also some might prefer to use the Guardian weapons over the std stuff.

Apparently, even with 10's of billions of credits, farming even more is a requirement...

Me? I'm sitting on a little over a billion and not farming anything... (but will have to earn some more credits in the next 5 months, just to pay for FC upkeep)

In the case where your preference is to use Guardian weapons over standard ones, because you just wanna have fun and don't care about maximising your damage.

I think he's looking for "Tactical Core Chips". I've never seen these at any of the dead Titans.

May indeed...but he also mentions "protect Guardian weapons in the Thargoid environments" so that also requires "Tactical Core Chips"...I think....could be wrong

Actually no reduction at all (just more)...when adding two small Guardian Gauss Cannons to my Mamba...as there are no small AX weapons for the small hardpoints ....I think
