Rammers at George Lucas Station

Came across them before, failed to take down my python's shield. What can you say, silly people are silly. I thought it was just terrorism against CODE, but I guess it's indiscriminate.

Motion to create a "Station Ambassador" position for each orbital so that they can observe and report happenings around their domain?

Still happening this morning, I've been offline for over a week and hadn't known this behaviour was happening. Cost me a lot in cargo and replacement fees. I shall be in solo play from now on till this behaviour is stopped

Yup still there.

Popped in to take a look in my Conda for the fun of it. Got plenty of money. 2 or 3 of them constantly ramming me. Conda with decent shields and 5 shield packs and they were taking my shield rings off until I opened fire on them, George Lucus blew me up as I forgot how close I was to the station. :)

Stick to solo for me, just not worth it as nothing you can really do. The rammer gets the damage benefit and when you are against 2 or 3 of them, you are stuck really. They do it inside no fire zone, so guns are not use.

Basically these area's are out of bounds as no way 1 big ship can stop 2 or 3 rammers.

Silly children, nothing in it for them, no money rank.

Only did it to confirm my suspicions of Open in popular areas.

Funny. I can't get to George Lucas because of that damned faction change, I'm completely hostile to them. Sometimes I pick up kill missions from Independent Leesti for Equality in Quator to help rid that terrible corporation from Leesti, and I will continue to murder all Reynhardt IntelliSys vessels I can get my hands on.

I really do not see why FD do not remove people caught doing this from open. 1st warning 1 month ban followed by lifetime. I just do not buy its not legal as other games do it.

Unlike pirates and the like these people add nothing and will cost FD money.

It would be useful if FD logged as a regular Joe player and see for themselves what's going on there. The new ramming rules aren't going to touch these guys as a lot of the time they are just crushing up against people coming into the toast rack or as they are about to dock so they are not even breaking 100ms when the rule comes into force.

Sigh FD.

Well it is just pure ganking for no reason and one of the reasons I stay away from open as do many others.

So everyone says "stay away from the popular areas" but that means loads of the starter systems and large chunks of civilised space are out of bounds. Not really good for anyone yet alone FD.

Oh well, FD's issue to deal with and if they don't it will only cost them money.

I've just been there and was rammed twice (once by each); didn't kill me but my shields were greatly reduced. I watched as the Cobra was firing at an Anaconda (a known name in GalNet lists) who was just ignoring it. Decided to shoot the Cobra myself to see what happened (got plenty of credits so wasn't particularly bothered about costs incurred). Someone else knocked him as I was getting in close. I opened fire and the station ripped me a new one before I could do any real damage to the Cobra. I should have waited until my shields were fully recharged and had a bit more time firing. 88% hull damage is a mere scratch.

Since the Code moved out of the area, ramming seems to increased significantly . We used to try stop the Cosmic state griefers from doing this to innocent traders when we were operating from there.
Perhaps some of the Alliance groups that are in the area should try to protect the traders from these idiots until 1.3 and the crime update come into force. It seems to us that the place is a no go area since the Code moved on.

I know it's not overly realistic, and some folk's legitimate "ramming" challenges will be at an end, but maybe player ships should just pass through each other. Kill this moronic behaviour outright. knowing there may be punishment for the n0b who splatted them is little consolation to the player who has slogged his way over to that station and lost their mission or rare cargo. They'd much rather it not have happened

Why make our game worse because of these <self redacted>? Just ban them.

Although I do not agree with these activities, I wouldn't be delivering rares in Open. I would got to private mode and avoid the headache. Quite an easy answer, right?

I would give you the same answer. To me, slipping into open to avoid players is cheating. OK, I know it is only cheating myself, but it still does not feel right. It is also very gamey - a total immersion destroyer, and that does not sit well at all with the way that I want to play the game - doing in game things for in game reasons. I guess that I may do it one day if it is to avoid people who are not 'playing the game' but are merely being complete and utter <there goes my editor's pen again>. The best way for honest players playing the game 'properly' to not have to put up with this is to ban them.

they got me too. i was at George this morning and then went off to do various missions. collected about 100k of bounties along the way, came back to cash it in and that tool in the clipper launched himself out of the docking channel. I managed to dodge him and get to my pad but he got me just as I was about to touch down and I lost everything :\

there had been a guy called LoneWarrior there earlier in the day who was warning approaching players about them and having a prolonged text slapfight with them. i should have go into solo when i saw the clipper setting up to ram me but eh, what are weekends for?

From the "Have you ever been rammed" thread, regarding this same player. Seems that he has a history.

Oh Jesus, not him again! He was the guy dumbfiring people as they landed a few months back. Has he seriously not got bored of this yet. If people are looking for a clear definition of griefing ... This is it.

I have ran into him before though, when I first started and in a luxury trading point ages ago. He has always been psychotic and kills because he enjoys it.

Yeah I tried to warn you but too many ships going in and out at the time, I messaged around 40 ships while I was there, only 4 ignored me and the rest said they were going to SOLO and thanking me for the tip
I filmed most of it, though I died because I went outside the no fire zone following the guy in the cobra, I fired and still go fried by the station, oh well that's what my 100+ million bank account is for

Yes In another post I told people what he said to me:
Heres a few things the rammers told me:
" we ram people for fun and to hear newbies cry"
"we find exploits and used to use missiles to trigger point defence, they fixed it, so now we are ramming, when they fix that we will just stay under 100 and hope incoming cmdrs are going over 100 to get the station to destroy them, and even if that doesn't work we will just push them onto the wrong landing pad and log off"
-
I interdicted them in a 2v1 and they fled, at the station at one point the clipper guy lost his shields, I opened fire but he had logged, his ship was invincible for a few seconds then POOF

Not sure whether uploading will help or make it worse so im holding off for now, for one thing it gives them the fame they want, on the other it warns people to just log off when they see them before they get rammed, what do people think?
