Rammers at George Lucas Station

To be honest, I think that most of what Ronan187 says is true. We've crossed paths a few times at George Lucas, and never once did him and his friend get my shields down, even on my little Adder. Some close calls, and I did get blown up by the station when I opened fire. That was my fault, not theirs. Actually I quite enjoyed the edginess of coming up against genuinely manic gameplay. And they really are NOT alone. I've met a Python pilot, and the notorious Anaconda one too, plus a couple of question marks of pilots who passed me really close by when I did evasive moves who may or may not have been trying to rm. I don't see Solo as even slightly valid for avoiding people who are playing within the rules, and I did dozens of rares runs in and out of George Lucas by flying very carefully, and learned a hell of a lot about using the lateral thrusters to play matador to an incoming Cobra. Easy really.

I won't say I salute the rammers, but they did have a kind of idiotic class about them which I miss. :) Good luck with your community goals. It was fun while it lasted!

thanks mate we used to applaud anyone that got past so fair play to you , its was funny because one guy we killed twice in a row then it come on the chat can i please come in this time and we never killed him again because he asked permission to come in .this was only meant for a little rp fun, but people took it way out of context and it got to the point where we could no longer leave the sation ourselves . we had people queuing up outside to kill us. ive been killed so many times, way more than i have killed.

the devs gave us the tools mate

Having the tools and their INTENDED use are two different things.

And just because devs have not thought about implications for certain actions does not mean it is something they think is right.

I can bash in skulle with a hammer but the inventor of the hammer wanted an easier way to hammer in nails - Just because you HAVE a tool does not mean you have to ACT like a tool.

its a game

A game that tries to simulate a society for better or for worse.

The part of "Dangerous" right now is lacking in the game unless you are a victim.

Talk about missing the point.

What part off "dangerous" is the game to YOU, to those TRYING to be criminals, pirates, mavericks and in some cases complete ats and griefers.

THAT part is not dangerous.

The game is not dangerous to YOU, or to ME for that matter if i decide to be a pirate.

Punishment and it's consequences are a short term joke.

The only one who takes a real risk are the one currently being VICTIMS of said behavior.

have you not read any of this thread ? the ramming stopped at 1.3 so there are no more victims!!! i all ready said ive died way more than ive killed people so it was certainly dangerous for me,not to mention expensive !

My apologies, I misunderstood your intent with the way you phrased it.

Personally I dont think ramming should be stopped at all but that we should have a more expansive and long term effect of comitting a crime.

-Those WANTING to play criminals can actually FEEL like criminals
-ats and griefers gets punished
-Regular people gain some protection

I quite like it when rival Powers try to ram me when I dock at their stations: it adds excitement and an interesting narrative to the game. What the George Lucas guys did 'ramming' wise was not that much of a crime, the crime was that some of them used exploits like cashing in on bounties to become billionaires, the result being that they didn't care if they lost a dozen condas in a ramming session. It's exploiters rather than 'in-game' nuisance players that need to be watched out for

im certainly not a billionaire ,i cant even afford a python haha

I respect what the rammers are doing, even though I was killed by similar station camping tactics in the past. Even though they got me a couple times, the few times I dodged them and landed was a unique experience I haven't forgotten.

We should be thanking them instead of insulting them. Thanks for the danger, station rammer guys.

you are very welcome mate glad you enjoy it.

Again we have stopped ramming. And again if people didn't report for something which is allowed no time would have wasted by the devs

It is not allowed, you have been privately contacted to stop it and they made an update to address that type of ridiculous behavior. This would not have happened if it was simply allowed.
