This is the part where someone like RN turns up and says system security should mean something - so you only put the bad stuff in Low Sec / Anarchies. And then put CGs in those systems too![]()

At the moment, a noob really only meets noob level NPCs unless they take higher ranked missions or go into designated combat zones. So there is a sort of mechanism that exists. It could be a bit tougher, perhaps as you increase through the ranks they become way more aggressive and competent. And how does mr noobynoob in his stock Sidewinder fight against murderhoboing npc gankers and thargs. I mean if you scale NPC's even half as capable as engineered human ships, there is no way anyone apart from some highly skilled player can advance the game.
Did anybody else reads this as OP having started the verbal abuse by calling the griefer coward and scummy?
Yeap and that is what really fuels themSodium extraction was a success for the ganker.
I wouldn't really recommend visiting CZ without shields. Hull tank became useless with module damage. Solo is dangerous enough - not everyone needs to become edgelord master just to play the game. This is why I think half the problem is solo not being dangerous enough. If you wouldn't dare fly in solo shieldless because of NPC ganker wings and Thargoids then you'd have less issue with the human players.
This could end up like one of those 'I tried to pay my bounty' threads. Not sure if OP's opening lines could be subject to penalty, but i guess MS will take care of both of them if they deem necessary![]()
Yep! You have to seek out NPC trouble. It rarely comes to you, and when it does, like the occasional pirate, their skill level is simply too poor. Of course you can bring a ton of gold to a CNB, and start firing at multiple wings, but that is only fun (survivable) for a certain amount of time, even though it is possible to find a "balance". On the other hand, I remember how literally scared i was the first time I was interdicted with all those gems in my cargo, after finally not blowing up while trying to crack rocks. Pretty complicated, once you think about it. Remembering all the buttons and trying to figure out what the flip a firing group is, listening to the countdown and then the boom that rips your hull. This is why I think half the problem is solo not being dangerous enough. If you wouldn't dare fly in solo shieldless because of NPC ganker wings and Thargoids then you'd have less issue with the human players.
Yes, difference is that you need actively seek danger to meet it in solo. Take too high ranked mission, transport high value stuff to anarchies, go to the CZ or certain RES zones, or compromised nav beacon, go hunt Thargs....I wouldn't really recommend visiting CZ without shields. Hull tank became useless with module damage. Solo is dangerous enough - not everyone needs to become edgelord master just to play the game.

It took me roughly a thousand hours in solo before I went there, but now I really like it, and I still haven't blocked anyone. It seriously adds to the game, once you have practiced in solo for a while. Now that I know what open is like, I wish I had gone there earlier on more occasions. It's good for the adrenaline, whenever solo becomes too easy and boringI almost accidentally played in Open once
15s is quite long isn't it?not sure it qualifies like that if itlaststakes less than 15s![]()

or even shieldless with 752tAs has been already said, but is worth repeating - gankers are part of the Open ecosystem, but there are ways to avoid them and survive attacks.
Gankers Paradise includes less than 1% of the systems in the bubble, and are very predictably focused on high traffic systems.
1. CGs - lots of fat juicy trade Vessels. Either do your last jump in solo, or kit your ship to run through that 'blockade'.
2. Engineering systems, especially Deciat - lots of juicy unengineered Vessels. Either do your last jump in solo, or kit your ship to run through that 'blockade'.
3. PP core worlds (not so much anymore). If you're running merits... Either do your last jump in solo, or kit your ship to run through that 'blockade'.
4. A small number of popular systems: Shinrarta, Ray Gateway, old worlds... If you're going there to buy ships/modules for the discount... Either do your last jump in solo, or kit your ship to run through that 'blockade'.
Yes, the majority of the financial pain is upon the victims, but there are scaling bounties (notoriety based), scaling rebuys (notoriety & comparative ship value baesd). As a new player, I imagine your ship building knowledge is growing, but everytime you die you'll learn something and the forums are a pretty decent source of advice. I saw one T9 build posted already, so here's a couple other Open trade ships I have used:
T9 (before thermal cascade was nerfed and mines were fun), since mothballed for a Cutter: https://s.orbis.zone/djnh
AspX (for Rares CGs): https://s.orbis.zone/djnl
As a new Cmdr, there's no way you'll be able to build anything like that, but have a look at the shield Mj & resistances and the hull integrity & resistances, then compare those to yours.

That's not how you spell delighted ....dELITEd: By Accident
No. It may make the Cmdr character scum but not the player. Thats RP for you, you can role play your character as you see fit, even if others think that character is a scumbag, infact even if the player thinks that character is a scumbag. Some addennum to my post...player blasting undefended ship purely to destroy it without no real risk, is engaging in cowardly and quite a scummy behauviour. Ok lets say player roleplays murder psycho or opposes faction in CG, from RP point that player engages in lowlife terrorist attack on humanitarian relief, which from inside game universes perspective again makes player quite a scum.
