Random disconnects.

I have been playing the PS4 version for most of the day and I am getting random disconnects in the game every few minutes. It has gotten to the point where I just can't seem to land, jump, dock, or even drop out of SC without being disconnected from the server.

Anyone else having this problem? Or know of a fix?

It usually happens on the first few days after a major patch or change to the game. The Amazon servers are a bit slow to increase their bandwidth & struggle a bit with the large change in the number of players online. It does settle down after a few days however.

Ah ok I usually play on the PC as that is my main platform for Elite Dangerous. But some days using the VR in hot weather can be a pain and noisy due to the fans, so I got ED on the PS4 as well. The game runs smoothly its just the disconnects. I wonder if the same is going on in the PC version.

hi there, i have not had any random disconnects but i lost connection few times last night while doing hyperjump/ drive.

I was doing great for hours, but now every time I frame shift, it gets stuck in that transition mode for over a minute, then gives me an error about connecting to the matchmaking server. I'm going to switch to solo to see if that helps.

So much for that idea.... Now why do I need the currently-broken matching server when I'm playing in solo?

I had a similar problem earlier today, was fine for hours then suddenly would disconnect after a minute or two over and over again. I found that turning my PS4 off and back on and then relaunching ED clreared the problem and just had another great couple of hours issue free after the PS4 restart.

Trying that now - thanks!

Is it a disconnect i.e. you get told you are disconnected or does the game freeze. I thought i was getting crashed a few times last night (notably when the UK woke-up. I wonder why?) but it turned out I was being impatient, if i waited about 2 minutes the game would carry on.

It is a disconnect from the server, the message that comes up tells me this. I lost my rag with the PS4 version tonight after I bought 6 units of basic medicines and when I arrived at the outbreak system to deliver and cash in the game had given me 6 units of Agri medicines. Yes I know what I am doing been playing Elite Dangerous since Alpha and I always check what I buy on the market so I know I bought basic meds. Then as I was taking off to deliver the agri meds to a agricultural system the game disconnected yet again and so I quit playing on the PS4 in a strop and got a cup of tea to settle in and play it on the PC.

Not being condescending here but I know from playing in Alpha what a game freeze is when entering or exiting SC/ Witchspace, and I know what a disconnect is.

Right now for me at least the connection issues with the PS4 are just too much. It gets worse through the day as more people join the server. So I guess its the PS4 net code with the p2p handshake to the Amazon cloud servers.

I'v been getting disconnects a lot in elite atm.
But i did noticed psn down when it happens.
So i'm wondering is psn getting DDos attacked?

PC connection is garbage. Constant disconnects.

Here's a screenshot of me logging in, and the game thinks im landed on a planet, despite being upside down and 51k in the air.
Yet FD assures, "Servers are fine, Working as intended". Source: https://imgur.com/a/EtWzWcg

I've gotten more crash to desktop and reports sent this past month than the preceding 5 years combined.
Issue Tracker pointless (no action, or confirmation for weeks, now months).

Comcast tech was out to the house today. There was a bit of noise in my downstream (Signal Network Strength around 32) but that was corrected and sitting at 39-40. Upstream is a little strong (40+) but otherwise no issues. And just to repeat AGAIN and AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY AN ISSUE WITH ELITE DANGEROUS. All other games, sites, etc run fine. Tablets and Phones and 2nd monitor activity has no issues while ED s the bed.
